I am a “Special Investigator” for the Department of the Treasury (subcontracted through Omniplex). I perform National Security background investigations in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area. My expertise has been called upon on several occasions to travel to other metropolitan areas when the work load is too intense for the local “Investigators”. I am also one of the investigators cleared to perform checks and investigations on schools that require ICE certification. I maintain a Secret Security Clearance for this position. Dyncorp International FZ Baghdad, Iraq

August 2007- October 2007

Acting Team Leader (TL)

As Team Leader I performed all duties listed below (Assistant Team Leader and IPLO), supervised my fellow IPLO’s (22 total), coordinated daily assignments for military missions and developed our training schedules for the IPLO’s. The TL is a key member of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) security team that develops and maintains procedures for the FOB in case we are over run, take indirect or sniper fire at the FOB.

Our team provided PSD support for the local movements within Baghdad (FOB Shield to the Green Zone or to BIAP). I am very knowledgeable on the streets to and from these locations. From time to time we were called upon for the EP detail for PM Maliki.

I successfully designed the new “Story Board” for our FOB that is reviewed by the Commanding General in Iraq for the Coalition forces. The TL meets on a monthly basis with the Iraqi General and US MG to discuss progress on the training of his Police force in Sadr city and surrounding areas.

I was an integral part of the team on FOB Shield that planned and directed training for the Iraqi Police on the east side of the city. We developed training initiatives that were directed to the sectarian/warring gangs within Iraq. My team developed a “Train the Trainer” program that trained Officers at he local police stations to be trainers themselves, working toward a program where the Local stations will train and mentor their own on topics specifically needed at their stations but still meeting the Ministry of Interior guidelines.

I still performed foot patrols and mounted patrols when the MP unit had special projects or initiatives within my sector.

FOB Shield was the new location for the judicial branch for Baghdad region; I was approached on many occasions by the Iraqi Judges on my FOB to initiate a training program that will better the basic officer on field investigations. This program was in the beginning phases when my contract was ending.

May 2007 – August 2007

Assistant Team Leader (XO)

As an XO I assisted in supervising the FOB Shield IPLO team (22 personnel). The XO is responsible for all the daily reports, the day to day scheduling and the daily interaction the Military Police commander in regards to mission success. The XO fills in for the Team leader when he/she are away from the FOB making any and all decisions that may affect the team.

October 2006 – May 2007

International Police Liaison Officer (IPLO)

An International Police Liaison Officer is attached to an MP unit. We go out to local Iraqi Police stations on a daily basis to train, mentor and monitor all Iraqi Police from the Iraqi Policeman, which work the streets, to the Colonel that runs the station. Today I have trained over 1000 Iraqi Policemen and Police Officers. We train the Iraqi’s in all aspects of Police work and mentor them as needed. We assist the Station command staff with record keeping from daily reports to equipment accountability. We not only train the Iraqi’s at the Stations we go out on patrol with them and train with them side by side. We kick in doors; participate in check points, working side by side to show them how Democratic Policing is done in the Unites States. We are an integral part of the MP unit in which we are assigned. We are force multipliers for the MP unit and fight side by side with them as the need arises. I am a Combat Life Saver and have been called into action when we roll up on fellow coalition forces that have been injured due to gun shot or roadside bombs. We carry the same gear and weapons and use it with great accuracy. We are cleared to operate all the weapons within our unit’s control. We are used as drivers when the need arises and we live side by side with our unit no matter the location or condition.
