Jonathan Atkin has photographed from a variety of helicopters, ships, power launches and an occasional parasail, in most US East Coast ports, Dubrovnik, Ashdod Israel, Rio, Bahamas, BVI, etc. His knowledge of port personnel and authorities and his maritime as well as aviation expertise permit unprecedented viewpoints, cooperation, as well as safety in getting the photo mission successfully completed for clients. His state of the art digital cameras, gyroscopes, and other equipment is but the start of the total process including finalization of images, with state of the art post-production processing of digital files for multiple reproduction platforms.
When not photographing ships and other maritime interests, Jonathan Atkin volunteers time aboard the 101 year old Tugboat Pegasus and the Fireboat John J. Harvey in NYC. He is also a member of the Harbor OPs group meeting at the USCG Sector NY and a steering committee member of the Working Harbor Committee.
