PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Sulphuric Acid Trading Company, Inc.
Product Manager / Commodity Trader 2009- Present
Responsible for the sales and marketing of Sulphuric Acid both internationally and domestically for this internationally recognized trading firm. Additional responsibilities included all vessel chartering and operations, management of a 100,000 metric ton terminal facility in the Port of Tampa, Florida where product is distributed via rail car and truck shipments to domestic distribution points as well as the export of product via ocean going vessels and barges internationally. Additional responsibilities included rail and truck contract pricing negotiations, setting company policies and procedures, direct and outside sales, labor and stevedore contract negotiations, quality assurance meeting customer needs and requirements, key account management, preparing bids and proposals for various government municipalities.
Kinder Morgan Terminals
Marketing Manager 2005-2008
Responsible for the sales and marketing of Kinder Morgan’s warehouse and terminal facilities located throughout the eastern seaboard. Daily duties included the marketing and leasing of Kinder Morgan’s warehouses and terminals for the storage of petrochemicals and dry bulk commodities within Kinder Morgan’s vast array of terminals and warehouse locations. Additional responsibilities included all contract negotiations with potential new clients while maintaining existing customer base. Launched aggressive direct sales and marketing plan. Trained and coached terminal managers in client retention while increasing customer base.
International Raw Materials
Commodity Trader/ Transportation Manager 2004-2005
Responsible for the sales, marketing and trading activities of fertilizer commodities for this internationally known Fertilizer Company. Additional responsibilities included the chartering of ocean going vessels to move company’s commodities internationally, load and discharge port cargo supervision to eliminate potential loss or cargo claims while ensuring for the prompt loading and discharge of vessel’s while alleviating potential demurrage exposure. Succeeded in increasing sales and market share while ensuring the profitability of the company.
IBE Trade Corp
Director of Sales, Marketing and Chartering 1996-2004
Director of trading with responsibility for the fertilizer trading activities of IBE’s worldwide offices located in Kiev, Moscow, Budapest, London, New York and Zurich. Routine duties included meeting with international traders and brokers to negotiate the purchase and sale of fertilizer and petro-chemicals worldwide. Additional responsibilities included developing untapped markets and trading routes not already captured for increased market share and presence.
Established new trading partners in Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Korea, India, China and Australia not previously captured.
Agrovit Trading Corp
Vice President Sales and Marketing 1993-1996
Responsibilities included the world wide sales and marketing of 2 million metric tons annually of liquid and dry bulk commodities which originated in the Former Soviet Union. Responsibilities here in the United States included stevedore contract negotiations, vessel chartering, barge, rail and truck negotiations for the unloading and timely distribution of product throughout the United States. Directly responsible for the building of the first commodity storage facility in the Port of Murmansk, Russia some 300 miles north of the Artic Circle.
Contichem Trading Corp
Director Chartering and Logistics Manager 1988-1993
Responsible for the chartering of ocean going vessel’s to handle the company’s commodities while also arranging for the domestic logistical needs of the company whether it be by rail, truck or barge for delivery to the ultimate destination. Contichem was a division of the internationally know grain trading house, Continental Grain Company. Negotiated and secured the first cargo of Urea Ammonium Solution from Bulgaria to the United States.
Transammonia Inc.
Chartering Manager 1983-1988
Responsibilities included the chartering of ocean going vessels on voyage charter and time charter basis to handle the companies shipping requirements. Additional responsibilities included cargo stowage planning, loading and discharge supervision, Port Captain duties to alleviate cargo loss and / or shrinkage and loss mitigation. Imported the first ever cargo of Ammonium Nitrate from the former Soviet Union into the United States and oversaw the complete discharge operation with the United States Coast Guard in attendance.
