Due to my adequate experience and qualifications, I am willing to join as Marine Technical Superintendents in Shipping Industries.
Experience
PRESENT EXPERIENCE :-
Since last 1 & ½ years employed in M/S Wartsila India Ltd for Ship Services at Paradeep Port trust (Dry Dock). Carrying out following duties :-
(a) Refit coordinator :- Responsible for coordinating refit activities of ships in Dry Dock. Carrying out project coordination of fabrication, Engineering and Electrical jobs having a base of fabrication. Underwater jobs such as Hull cleaning, Sea Chest maintenance, Under water Hull Survey, Grit / sand blasting, Plate renewals, Sacrificial Anode renewals, Painting, Anchor and Chain Cable Survey fall part of refit coordination. Following jobs come under Refit Coordination:-
? Refit Coordination for Hull, Engineering and Automation jobs.
? Prepare refit plan to accomplish the assigned tasks in stipulated period by using bar chart methodology.
? Vendors Administration and Allotment of suitable jobs to suitable vendors.
? Underwater Hull inspection .
? Upkeep Hull Survey, Fabrication, Inspection and erection of hull and its associated structures and fittings.
? Safe Docking and undocking of ships including underwater hull survey, repair and renewal of major underwater hull plates and structures.
? Various types of surface preparation, namely manual, mechanical, sand and vacuum blasting and inspection.
? Application of various types of Under Water Paint Schemes including Anti-Corrosive & Anti Fouling schemes on under water and outer Hull and inspection.
? All types of hot works onboard ships, namely : Oxy-Acetylene Cutting / Welding, Manual Metal Arc Welding, TIG / MIG welding and Submerged Arc Welding.
? Non-Destructive Tests (Visual , Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Radiography and Ultrasonic Inspections).
? Defect rectification and upkeep maintenance of hull structure, fittings, deck machineries. Life saving appliances and their testing.
? Repair, monitor and upkeep maintenance of Sacrificial & Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) Systems , Piping Systems and GRP structures.
? Instructions to ships’ crews about Fire Fighting and safety measures :– Precautions to be taken while entering in confined spaces, Firefighting, Welding and Burning operations, Working near running machineries, Painting in tank spaces, Damage Control during flooding due to damage on ships’ hull.
? Maintaining water tight and Air tight integrity of ships.
? Water Pressure and Air Pressure Testing of Compartments of ships.
? Survey, inspection, maintenance and Load Testing of Lifting Appliances; viz. - Davits, Derricks, Anchor and Chain cables, Windlass and Capstans.
? Preparation of Chain cable calibration reports
? Ensure smooth classification of survey jobs.
? Administering Work Done Certificates on completion of refit jobs.
? Administration of Ship Services department as Department -In-Charge.
(b) Dock Master :- Carrying out the duties of Dock master and responsible for safe Docking and Undocking of ships in Wartsila India Dry Dock at Paradeep Port Trust. Ensuring dock block preparation as per prescribed dimensions in respective Docking Plans. Dock gate operation, Water level Checks, ensuring proper height of blocks.
(c) In-charge, Yard Maintenance :- Responsible for periodic and break down maintenance Yard machineries required for Dock Operation. These machineries are Dock Over head Crane, Diesel Generator, 150 KW Motor driven De-watering pumps, 15 KW de-watering submersible pump, 7.5 KW de-watering submersible pump, 30 KW diesel driven fire pump, 30 KW motor driven fire pump, 5 KW motor driven fire pump, Capstan, Air Compressor.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE :-
18 years experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering in Ship Construction and Naval architecture on board various ships and establishments of Indian Navy including experience in the senior supervisor / middle management cadre, with responsibility in planning, organizing directing, coordinating and controlling of preventive breakdown, maintenance and analysis of construction, repair and maintenance activities. Actively supervised, coordinated and monitored major hull refit , plate renewal activities, Welding Inspections through NDTs and administering Industrial Safety management of Indian Naval Ships Nirupak (Visakhapatnam), INS Hosdurg (Mumbai) and INS Mithun (Chennai) at Naval Dock yards and Private Ship Repair Yards , namely, Afloat Engineers Private Ltd and Chokhani Internationals at Chennai. Performed the duties of Fire fighting instructor on board various ships and imparted the knowledge of use, maintenance and servicing of minor fire fighting appliances and major fire fighting systems to the ships’ crews. Also responsible for carrying out Docking / Undocking of ships in first ever Graving Dock in Orissa at Paradip and Refit Coordinator for Hull / Structural defects of ships.
INSTRUCTIONAL EXPERIENCE AT SHIPWRIGHT SCHOOL :-
03 years Instructional Training experience in Navy Shipwright School, Visakhapatnam as an Instructor and is responsible for :-
? Coordination of Theoretical training in subjects, namely, Practical Ship Construction, Ship’s Stability, Workshop Practice, Welding Technology, Hull survey and Hull Maintenance.
? Coordination of practical training activities , namely woodwork, GRP work, Sheet Metal, plumbing, drilling, Gas welding(Oxy-acetylene), Arc weldings (MMAW, TIG, MIG, Underwater and Submerged Arc weldings), Welding Defects and NDTs .
? Coordination and organization of various other training related activities, namely, industrial visits, guest lectures, trekking, camps and other adventure activities.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE :-
? 03 Years Administrative experience at Training Division of Headquarters, Southern Naval Command. During the period closely monitored the pattern of syllabi adopted at various Naval Training Establishments, pattern of training programs followed at training establishments, Utilisation of various funds at Naval Training Establishments and attending in court cases .
? During last 03 years of services in Indian Navy, managed the Training Load of minimum 250 trainees at any given time of the year. Assigned the duties of in-charge of Training Development and Evaluation Cell of Shipwright School, Visakhapatnam, and performing Human Resource Development activities such as; formulation of Training Programs, formulation of Training Curriculums for Diploma, Post Diploma and Post Graduation Courses, compilation of Training Dockets, Question banks and Lesson Plans, conduct of Examinations, analysis of Examination Results, Performance Evaluation of trainees through Feedbacks received from user ships and introducing necessary corrective actions in order to ensure effective utilization of inputs post-training, Performance Mapping of Instructors through Feedbacks from Authority and Trainees, Trainees’ Welfare measures and carrying out training related administrative duties.
