Marine Surveyor & Consultant Duties involve ship surveys, cargo surveys,

securing, container/equip on-hire/off hire

surveys for various lines and companies.

Preformed Port Captain services for

BBC, Rickmers, Oldendorf, Global & UAL

Lines as well as cargo consulting services.

8/04-3/08 American Cargo Transport/Foss Supercargo-Caribbean

Responsible for the operation for a number

of ocean going barges/tugs hauling USAID

containers, project& military cargos both

loading & discharge in various countries.

4/96-97 James J. Flanagan Stevedores Intermodal Manager

Responsible for the day to day

operations of (2) container yards, i.e., C.D./B.C., with weekly thru-put of 1, 700 containers/chassis.

Operated as a full repair facility.

Superintendent as the need arose.

As a liner and project carrier, ATL

operated 8-10 vsls., per month.

Summary of Experience:



Marine Operations: Comprehensive experience in vessel, cargo and terminal operations.

Worked in every major port in the Eastern and Southern Unites States. Sailed as Deck Officer

on American Flag vessels. Involved with container, break-bulk and tanker services. Supervised operations aboard conventional, full container, Ro/Ro and heavy lift vessels. Stowage

planner and specialist in handling project and parcel cargoes. Experience with problem

shipments as well as consultant for securing special cargoes. Performed duties as Port

Captain, Administrator and Contract Negotiator for various Owners/Charters. Skilled in

Stevedoring operations through involvement with Corporate Stevedoring subsidiaries in the

area of rates, labor, equipment and contracts. Ability to resolve problems in the field

through negotiations at any required level.



Labor Relations: Adept in dealing with all levels of union, non-union, i.e., Supervisory,

Management and Executive Personnel. Have accumulated more than thirty years of direct

dealings with I.L.A. labor and maintain a position as a successful negotiator with an excellent

working rapport with all parties involved.



Agency/Solicitation: Familiar with all areas of Agency operations, including Marine, Tramp,

Traffic, Rates, Claims and Sales Departments. Have assisted freight solicitors as well as

prepared client promotional presentations requiring complete explanation of all phases of

cargo handling during all stages of through put. Knowledgeable in areas of bookings, tariffs,

vessel profitable forecasting and schedules. Have prepared ads for publication and advertising

budgets.
