Marine surveyor, Technical superintendent,

Objective


I am seeking a job in the field of Surveying, Marine Engineering, Ship Building And Repair Engineering in Asia Pacific region as Singapore, China, Korea, etc. where my educational background and interpersonal skills will be used and developed besides acquiring practical experience and from my work in shipyards I have sharpened my organizational skills, attention to detail and my ability to work with speed and accuracy. .


Experience


SEDEF SHIPPYARD 1991-1994 Istanbul

• Control Engineer. in Quality Control Dept. ( New construction)

• Control Engineer .in Out fitting Dept. ( New construction)

In Sedef Shipyard in project of 23 sister ships for Russia, I was in quality control department in charge of visual inspection of any section which was ready to be presented to approval of classification society surveyor or buyer’s representative and Supervision on site, this includes the supervision of construction and outfitting work and attendance at inspections and tests of structure, machinery, equipments and systems.,

Also, Provides an Inspection Item List for the Hull Structure, Hull Outfitting & Machinery Outfitting, … according to Shipbuilding Specification, IMO Conventions and Class Rules.



My duty was to inspect, report, record of

- integrity and correctness of built section, condition of frames, longitudinal and transverse bulkheads, hull plates, web plates, stiffeners, brackets, etc. in accordance with technical plans/drawing and class or buyer’s requirements

- Material and scantling

- Welding (including checking of used electrodes, thickness, defects as cracks, pitting, deformation/distortion/buckling, etc.)

- Pipe work (Ballast, hydraulic, air, fire, service air, bunker, sludge, etc.), include checking of material, welding, sealing devices ( gasket, gasket lips, compression bars, drainage channels), bolts, etc. correct functioning of all systems valves, expansion devises, etc. that they comply and are in their designated position.

- Conduct testing and evaluation of water tightness of any compartment

- Painting and surface preparation in ballast tanks, hull, interior places. In accordance with paint supplier requirements.



In Sedef shipyard after 2 years I transferred to outfitting department to work as control engineer and my duty were the same including;

- Coordinate and directing subcontractors and workers to carry out above mentioned works

- Reviews qualification and monitoring of personnel.

- Provides guidance on new-building survey planning.

- Supervision during construction and deliveries upon completion.

- Provides guidance on shipbuilding Standard & Shipbuilding Sequence.

- Participates on Quality & Technical Meetings as a shipyard representative (QC , OWN , CLASS)

GEMAK SHIPYARD 1994-1998 Istanbul

• Floating Dock- Dock Master & Repair Manager

My duty was to;



- Planning, organizing, directing, co-ordinating and controlling of workers , subcontractors for variety of repair works on board

- Time, cost, critical path analysis, etc

- Preparation of docking plan, supervising of preparation for under keel blocks , supervising of immersion and emerging of dock, coordinating pilot for entrance vessels to dock,

- Organizing, managing of work for,

- High pressure water jet,

- Grit application

- Paint application

- Steel renewal

- Piping,

- Taking necessary measurement from rudder, tail shaft, etc.

I had my own company for repair or assembling of any mechanical and steel work in shipyards



EGETRANS SHIPPING COMPANY 2001-Present Istanbul

• Technical Manager- Superintendent

In my present position I am technical manager of our company and my duty is to;

- Visiting the vessels at regular intervals and reporting on general condition, repairs and maintenance, crew performance, safety, environmental protection, and any actions required. Discussing with Ship's Command the work plan, running costs, spares and stores and other issues of concern and reporting on same.

- Planning, controlling and execution of all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, dry docking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels.

- Maintain ISM and ship security system on board and in company

- Formulating a dynamic work plan and action list with the vessel's command, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with the Owner's policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.



- Corresponding and Managing and coordinating with Classification society for all survey intervals

- Corresponding with crew agencies-( we have Ukrainian crew on board) Interviewing and briefing Senior Officers on the work plan and requirements prior to them on joining the vessel.



- While attending university I worked in Halic and Pendik and Sedef shipyards.



Besides I attended 3 different projects,

- 1996 supervisor and co-ordinator for workers squad for towing of floating dock from Italy to Turkey for Gemak shipyard

- 1997 Technical advisor of coating of SCARABO7 project of submersible platform in Sadikoglu shipyard

- 2001 Attendance to auction in Greek-Athens to purchase a vessel and management to towing her from Greek to Istanbul and general repair and put her in working condition for present company
