Objective
Writing my master thesis at a shipping company operating worldwide, I am currently involved in environmental legislation concerning emissions to air. This concerns the CO2, NOx, SOx and PM regulations, but also the different techniques which can be applied. As graduate student in Shipping Management, I am interested in all aspects of technical and operational management. I already gained experience in large and smaller shipping companies, as well as investments in the shipping sector. Now, I am looking for an international challenge to start my career with.

Kronenburg, host, part-time
For the company Kronenburg I enjoyed working as a host during business events, congresses and also in several theatres throughout the Netherlands. I applied for this job because I wanted to improve my experience with formal events.

Cycletours, group leader
Cycletours organises tours by bike for parents with small children, in and outside the Netherlands. I joined on a trip to France as a mechanic. During this trip I wanted to improve my French language skills and also my skills in organising, leading and cooperating with persons you don’t know in advance.

Member of the Central Student Council of the DUT, full-time.
During one year I was entrusted with the promotional activities of my student party and specialised in ICT systems and the Sports and Cultural Centre of the DUT. Our party (ORAS) consisted of 6 persons and the full student counsel included 10 students. During this year I gained experience in leading, coordinating, taking responsibility and working within a formal organisation.

I was responsible for communication with the Sports Centre of the DUT and the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association).

Fortis Bank NL, internship
For three months, I worked at the Transportation Department of ECT within Fortis Bank NL. As an integral part of my studies, I gained experience being involved in all aspects of a Shipping Finance bank in the midst of the Credit Crisis. This included analysing business proposals and markets, cash flow calculations and use of other specialized programs as well as (portfolio) risk management and working within a formal organisation.

NileDutch, summerjob
NileDutch is a shipping company specialized at the West Africa trade. During the summer of 2008, I worked within the Ship Management department as an office member and was fully involved in acquiring and processing spare parts.

Marinebedrijf, internship
Three weeks of practical internship at “Marinebedrijf” situated in Den Helder, the Netherlands. “Marinebedrijf” is a civil company which carries out maintenance for the Dutch navy.

I am very experienced with environmental legislation and worked with different types of organisations. During my study, I have participated in several part- and fulltime commissions, within and outside the university. Both give me the background needed to work with different personalities and nationalities.
I am looking for an international active shipping company at which I can gain experience and to which I can devote my whole attention. I am eager to prove myself in any circumstance and depending on the task, I will move to whatever place necessary. I already gained experience living abroad during my study and I want to relive that challange in the first years of my career.
