Marine professional with 200 ton master license

Looking for vessel operations manager and/or Captain position.


Experience


23 year career as USCG officer, recently retired as CDR/O-5. Jun 06 to Dec 07, Executive Officer, USCGC MUNRO, a 378 foot, 3200 ton cutter. As sexond in command, responsible for day-to-day operations and administration of ship including all personnel considerations. Additionally, managed all details of moving homeport of ship from Alameda to Kodiak as well as all aspects of crew training. Aug 20002 to Jun 2006, Aids to Navigation and Waterways Management Branch Chief for CG District 17 in Juneau, AK. Responsible for overseeing operations of 13 independent field units and nearly $13M budget. Liaison with federal, state and local governments as well as private entities during environmental considerations of all projects effecting navigatable waterways in Alaska. Aug 1999 to Aug 2002, Commanding Officer, USCGCs SYCAMORE and SWEETBRIER, Cordova, AK. Both vessels Buoy tenders, SWEETBRIER was a 180 ft, 1000 ton ship that was decommissioned due to age and replaced by SYCAMORE, a 225 ft, 2000 ton ship. Was responsible for details of the transition from one ship to the other in addition to normal duties of commanding officer. May 1997 to Jun 1999, Surface Operations Officer, Group Airstation Atlantic City, NJ. Singularly responsible for all surface assets in group area of responsibility. May 1995 to May 1997 Commanding Officer USCGC MANITOU, a 110 ft, 150 ton patrol boat in Miami, FL. Sep 1992 to Apr 1995 Operations Officer Pacific Area Training Team, Alameda, CA. Responsible for planning, scheduling and training of 6 operational training teams to deliver on station training all over the west coast of the US. May 1990 to Aug 1992, Executive Officer, USCGC ACACIA, Charlevoix, MI, a 180 ft, 1000 ton Buoytender. Aug 1987 to May 1990, Officer in Charge of Deployable Law Enforcement Team, Fort Macon, NC. Responsible for training, scheduling and accomplishing law enforcement missions into the Carribean Sea. July 1985 to July 1987, Operations Officer USCGC PLANETREE, Ketchikan, AK.

BS in Chemistry from US Coast Guard Academy, 1985.

Currently hold a 3.71 gpa in MBA program from University of Phoenix.
