WESTERN PACIFIC MARINE Ltd, Hong Kong. 1994 – 2004 Managing Director Working as a marine consultant, ship surveyor, claims handler, marine causality investigator and project cargo supervisor. Areas of operation include Hong Kong, China and most all of the Pacific Rim countries. Working closely with all major P & I Clubs & Marine Underwriters in Asia. (Note; I continued sailing for one year while surveying on leave). DREDGE OPERATORS, New Orleans, La. 1993 - 1995 Mate / Dredgemaster Sailed as Mate and Dredgemaster on the largest US flag trailing suction hopper dredge. The areas of operation were Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Africa, Jamaica and Florida. While the vessel was in Hong Kong I worked on the land reclamation for the new airport. This was the largest construction project in the world at that time. AMERICAN DREDGING, Camden, NJ 1992 - 1993 3rd Mate Sailed as 3rd Mate on the company’s trailing suction hopper dredge. The areas of operation were Texas and Florida. Some of the projects were channel widening/ deepening and beach replenishment. MORAN TOWING of New York and Texas. 1988 – 1991 Mate / Relief Captain Tug and Barge Sailed as relief Captain and Mate on tug and barge units in the New York harbor, New England and the Southeastern regions. The products carried were Nos. 2, 4, 6 fuel oils to various power plants. GENERAL DYNAMICS, Quincy MA. 1984 – 1985 Production Foreman Led an operation group of 6 in manufacturing of deep sea shipping vessels. Overseeing rigging of all heavy lifts and transportation of sub-assemblies for ships under construction. Responsible for all completion of government contracts. Able to read detailed blueprints for DOT and commercial specification. Delegated work, trained and instructed staff in required tasks. LINES BY DESIGN, Danvers, MA. 1985 – 1990 Operation and General Manager Oversee all general management and operations functions of this service company in the parking lot maintenance business. Execute sales and marketing programs including advertising, telemarketing, direct mail and prospecting in the greater Boston area.
ZAPATA MARINE SERVICE, Houston, TX. 1981 – 1985 Mate / Chief Mate Sailed as mate on various vessels in the world wide oil industry. Areas of operation included, Africa, Italy, England, Germany, Newfoundland (ice berg towing) and Mexico. CROWLEY MARITIME & TRANSPORTATION CO. San Juan PR 1979-1981
Mate Sailed on the world’s largest tug and barge units in the Caribbean to South America also sailing into southern US Ports in the roll on roll off container vessel industry.
