• Provide input in the company's policy and procedures.

• Review safety audits/reports from the units and ensure that the appropriate action is taken to rectify defects.

• Ensure that all maintenance, surveys and modifications are properly planned, documented, approved and executed.

• Provide help and advice to other departments.

• Ensure effective communication between management of the units, customers, clients and own staff.

• Ensure that all units are correctly surveyed and certified

• Liaise with clients, crewing agents and subcontractors.

• Ensure that company policy with regards to quality, safety and environment is implemented.

• Maintain daily contact with relevant staff concerning all matters to the company's operations.

• Maintain contact with available and suitable services/ facilities such as; hospitals, doctors, offshore vendors etc. Co-ordinate and supervise all matters pertaining to safety of the units and personnel during emergencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The safe navigation and operation of the vessel, as well as its seaworthiness and stability.

• Enforcement of Company policies, statutory rules and regulations, local rules and regulations.

• Enforcement of Client's requirements regarding safety and environmental protection.

• Motivation of the crew in observation of these policies, rules and regulations.

• Verification that specific requirements are observed.

• Issuance of appropriate orders in a clear and simple manner.

• Making sure that specific knowledge and experience is communicated to and shared with all people on board.

• Reviewing of the safety management system and reporting its deficiencies to the shore based management.

• Overriding authority and responsibility to make decisions with respect to the safety and health of life, safety of the ship and the protection of the environment and to request the Company's assistance as may be necessary.

• Effective authority and responsibilities resulting from the Company HSEQ Management and vessel Documentation System.

Skils


Captain with a wide experience in the oil industry, computer skills, well experienced on oil cargoes and volume calculations of all type of liquid bulks; fluent English spoken and proficient in writing skills, high experience on ISM and all safety related issues as well as health and environment.

Wide experience on ample types of vessels and crafts both operational & administrative with a very good understanding of marine engineering and marine Architecture. Used to work under pressure and lead groups of people to conform efficient and productive teams, proficient in the English language and good skills on computer office management

Manager, with wide ranging experience within the commercial marine and offshore markets; expert knowledge in the operation and maintenance of ships and offshore units.

Extensively involved with the preparation and review of contractual documents for

the management of the oversight and quality requirements of the Owners and Operators.

The interpretation of requirements and subsequent specification has meant the development of a broad technical knowledge and understanding along with very good communication and presentation skills, a flexible approach as well as the ability to problem solve and provide practical cost effective solutions.

Worked closely with clients, contractors and ships crews on a wide range of projects and understanding the importance of good communication between all parties. Last employment as Marine Operations Manager at Damas Oil and Marine Services in Port Harcourt Nigeria June 2010 through Mar. 2013.
