Assist Carnival Cruise Lines Marketing Department with the planning of future itineraries and insure the viability of the itineraries. Ascertain that safe berthing is available and that proper berthing reservations are made with the numerous ports though out North America, Caribbean, and Europe. Supervise the logistics of cruise liner operations while in port, including the embark/disembark of passengers and the loading and unloading of luggage, waste streams and stores. Formulate and maintain yearly budget for the port operations department, which exceeds 170million dollars. Review budget and implement cost saving controls. Negotiate contracts with various port authorities, stevedores, agents and ancillary port services to insure proper vessel operation. Created and continue to maintain the port operations intranet site in order to disseminate correct information though out the company. In addition, produced and sustain an itinerary program which lists vessel positions through the next 6 years. Act as a liaison to assure a good working relationship with government agencies and private industry involved with the passenger ship industry. Promoted to the position of Manager in February 2002 and promoted to Director in February 2005

Marine consultant for various shipping companies. Administrated company activities from satellite office mainly serving tanker calls into Port Everglades and Tampa. Inspected port and terminal facilities and made recommendations for limiting liability and costs. Assured vessel, port and terminal adherence to local and federal regulations. Conducted inspections, including vetting surveys of tankers and barges to determine that chartered vessels are properly managed, equipped and operated. Conducted loss control surveys and expedited cargo operations. Inspected vessels for flag requirements on behalf of Bahamas Maritime Authority and issued certificates.

Provide vessel valuation services. Perform pre-purchase and on-hire/off-hire surveys. Conduct thorough inspections of vessels to determine that it meets class/registry criteria in regards to the structure, machinery and cargo equipment. Formulate and issue reports of survey findings. Provide recommendations prior to sale, purchase, or charter of vessels as to their suitability for intended service with pricing and operational costs. Assist vessel’s owner in obtaining crew, equipment repairs and supplies. Port Captain for various shipping companies. Master/Chief Mate 1991-1996

Master aboard the company’s government chartered Fast Sealift Ships, a 946ft ro/ro-container vessel. Responsible for all vessel functions including navigation, safety, budget and payrolls. Assisted company with developing and implementing vessel policies and procedures concerning vessel and company operations. Ensured that vessel complies with rules and regulations concerning contract requirements, federal guidelines and employee work rules. Administered all activities aboard the vessel, including supervision of repairs during shipyard overhauls and contractor work. Directed vessel activities and scheduling during A.B.S., U.S.C.G. and NAVSES inspections. Conferred with military command personnel regarding vessel mission objectives, exercises and goals. Captain during various joint military operations including the Cuban and Haitian refugee crisis.
Chief Mate aboard the Fast Sealift Ships. Deck Department head and second in command of vessel. Directed cargo operations. Supervisor responsible for directing all maintenance activities on the vessel’s hull, deck machinery, cargo gear and superstructure. Maintained departmental payroll and overtime budget for Captain’s approval. Prepared monthly computer reports on vessel equipment status and maintenance for submission to company headquarters and governmental agencies. Service included deployment for the Persian Gulf War.
