PORT TERMINAL OPERATIONS



• Implemented and expedited discharging techniques for containerized cargo vessels, saving shipowners/charterers more than $11,750,000 annually.



• Directed and supervised stevedore and ILWU longshoreman personnel compliance with safely handling procedures, preventing over $25.5 million in cargo damage, shortage and personal injury claims.



• Coordinated and planned even distribution of cargoes stowage within vessels' holds at loading ports, resulting in quick and safe dispatch at ports of discharge.



• Developed terminal operation manual, reducing field training 50 percent and increasing stevedore productivity.



• Advised Owners and Masters on how to comply with foreign ports arrival regulations, avoiding collisions and fines exceeding over $15,500,000 annually

• Dispatched vessels within stipulated lay days, rewarding charterers over $13,950,000 annually.



• Developed alternative routes for vessels' bunkering/re-bunkering on both outward and homeward voyages, saving carriers nearly 35 percent in bunkering costs.



• Executed timely tendering of "notice of readiness" to parties involved upon vessels' arrival, ensuring quick commencement of lay time.



• Renegotiated stevedoring elements of major freight contract as per charter party, saving receiver approximately $1,330,000.
