Duties and responsibilities:
This is an Engineering Management and Technical Support supervisory position at the Ships Repair Facility (Shipyard) for Company’s Ships Fleet, which has its own Breakwater and Ships Dry-docking Facility. This position is critical to the safe operation of the Ships and Ships Repair Facilities (Shipyard).
This position integrates with the Vendors, Logistics & Supply, Planning & Estimation, Quality Assurance, Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural Departments dealing with diversified ships machinery such as General Electric LM2500 Gas Turbines, MTU Diesel Engines, and Auxiliary Machinery such as Chilled Water York A/C Plants, Diesel and Lube Oil Purifiers, Distillers, Air Compressors, Propellers/Shafting and Pumps.
The scope of work includes (however, not limited to):
•Inspections, evaluation and surveys of the ships machinery in the Dock and during the Ships Sea Trials at Sea as per engineering practices and specifications and writing technical reports thereafter.
•Technical support and troubleshooting advice to the maintenance and operations team.
•Oversee, evaluate and review a variety of engineering activities; assesses feasibility of proposals, projects and equipment.
•Follow-up works in progress and schedule of repairs proposing eventual corrective measures.
•Conform to the company’s quality system procedures as documented and seek continuous improvement.
•Work with Clients as required, to ensure drawings, designs output conforms to the company’s requirements.
•Advise cost effective modifications and evaluation of substitute parts.
•Preventive maintenance (PMS), repair and maintenance decisions.
•Manage and coordinate all designated engineering assignments.
•Help to maintain schedule dates.
•Optimizing the use of Ships Repair Facilities / Equipment.
•Train Ships and Ships Repair Facility Staff when required.
