Maritime Field Service Engineer

Installed, troubleshoot, diagnose, align, and repair maritime radios, radars, communication, safety, and guidance electronic communications equipment for vessels in an “At-Sea”, dry-dock, shipyard, or port environment for warranty and non-warranty installations & repairs in the Northeast region of North America. To including: MF/HF Transceiver radios & VHF radios, ECDIS guidance systems, Satellite Telephones & Transceivers, GPS Receivers, and other communication equipment through on-site customer field service visits. Repaired & Commissioned new integrated equipment like Fleet Broadband, “ARPA” Radars, A.I.S. transponder beacon systems, and other critical safety & guidance equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on navigation/communication equipment on ferry passenger vessels to keep passengers & crew on vessel safe and in properly working condition. Write field reports and service work order reports on software written reports as directed. Very proficient with numerous kinds of test equipment to include: Watt Meters, Freq. Counter, Multi-meter, Signal Generators, O-scopes and Transmission Test Sets. Often travel & work overtime hours or weekend/holiday & on-call work hours.

Read from build-sheets and blueprints to understand & functionally perform my job. Often, make immediate repairs on the assembly-line of trucks with specialized tools to not disrupt the critically rapid cycle-time of the next truck in the alignment increment.
