QUALIFICATIONS

Thirty-seven years marine engineering experience, 25yrs sea-going(Chief Engineer) and 12yrs ashore with OMI Corporation



Oversaw the daily Engineering Operations for a fleet of 20 Ocean-going vessels & supervised a staff of six Port Engineers and various consultants.



Ensured good cost control while being responsibility for a 10 million dollar Operational Budget



Carried out ship-board inspections with United States Coast Guard, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and other International Underwriter - DNV, Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas and Germanische Lloyd



Co-ordinate, negotiate and authorized repairs with USA and Foreign Shipyard Representatives



Liaison with in-house chartering Operations, Insurance, Crewing for (Foreign/USA) and Accounting Departments



Acted as Owners Representative in the handling of negotiations for the sale of several OMI Corporation vessels (Bulker/Tankers) worth an estimated 26 million dollars.

1992- Maine Maritime Academy – Graduated Third Engineer, Steam and Motor (Diesel) Operated Vessels



1983- 1987 Obtained license for the position as Chief Engineer for Motor Vessels

Sailed as Chief Engineer with District –2 Marine Engineering Beneficial Association (MEBA/AMO) until my retirement as a sea-going (active) Chief Engineer



1987- 1997 Attended Industry Marine related seminars at ABS Houston, Quality Education Systems (QES) courses, several OSHA Awareness Level Training and several Diesel Engine courses with Maine Maritime Academy
