Responsible for procurement of Main propulsion and auxiliary equipment for defence applications, such as Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine, Compressors, Diesel engines, Air Conditioning plants, Pumps, Valves, Systems etc.
Achievement Financial targets of successful placement of orders for equipment development to the tune of Rs 700 crores achieved during employment at the organisation. Team successfully encouraged to undertake, review of Statement of Technical Requirements for equipment, float tender enquiries, progress TNCs and PNCs as per Ministry of Defence guidelines. Additional vendors developed post detailed assessment of capability.
1998 to 2001 Senior Surveyor
Responsible for procurement of marine machinery and equipment/ system such as Steam/Gas Turbine, Diesel Engines, Gear box, AC plant, Compressors, Pumps etc. on board new construction ships, post installation trials up to full power at the time of Commissioning of ships at Mazagon Dock Ltd, Mumbai.
Achievement Coordinated successful commissioning of five major naval warships (INS Delhi, Mysore, Mumbai, Kirch, 1241 RE as per scheduled programme of construction and delivery contract with MDL. Saved on rework through proactive approach in survey of ship construction activities, installation work and monitoring of delivery schedule for complex machineries and systems.
1993-1997 Joint Director, Design Organisation
Responsible for Indigenous Ship Construction Projects at a ship design and production organisation, focussed on indigenous ship design, technology induction, development of critical marine machinery and equipment through Indian firms, project monitoring involving close periodic review of progress of ship installation work, resolving bottlenecks, analysis of procurement change requirement and assessment of impact on delivery schedule, management of financial expenditure, timely delivery of three ships costing Rs 2500 crores.

Achievement Successfully completed timely repairs/ overhaul of marine equipment during refits of 40 ships. Reconditioned/repaired dockyard machinery worth 50 crores and saved Rs 10 crores through innovative repairs techniques implemented inhouse.
Ship Operation & Maintenance( 7 years)
Fleet Operation and Maintenance Supervision
• Dealing with Forecasting, Strategic Planning, Controlling, Organising and Coordinating activities of Naval Fleet maintenance.
• Project Management for new induction of Equipment and setting up infrastructure facility for overhaul of Inducted Equipment and Managing Contracts for indigenous procurements.
• Budget Planning for New induction of equipment, inventory management and repairs in India and Abroad.
