In quest of career oriented assignments and a long term association in Ship repair Sub-contracting, Procurement, Project Management & operations with a progressive and value driven organisation of repute.


Experience


1. I am a Lieutenant Commander in the Indian Navy with an experience of 10 years involving Commercial and Techno-managerial pursuits in warships, subcontracting of ship repair jobs to vendors, procurement of spares for ship repairs/ Shipyard/ floating dock, administering and concluding contracts, budget management of Rs. 300 Million approx. each year, negotiations, ship repairs etc.



2. The other aspects of my experience in subcontracting include Vendor assessment and development, budget coordination for all 18 funds of the establishment, preparation of budget returns and continuous training of all personnel dealing with funds. The quantum of funds handled by me each year are approx. Rs. 80 Million for Local ship repairs, Rs. 15 Million for procurement of all spares and equipment required by the Shipyard, Rs. 60 Million for the spares and service support to the floating Dock, Rs. 3 Million for maintenance of crafts and Tugs, Rs. 3 Million for procurement of day to day items and approx Rs.140 Million for repairs of ships and equipment at Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Firms.



3. I was the Owner’s Superintendent for Major repairs of 3 ships at PSU Shipyards amounting to approx Rs. 300 Million and for the drydock and underwater repairs of a ship at a Private Shipyard with a total contract value of Rs. 20 Million. As a Superintendent I have played a pivotal role in the following-

(a) Planning of activities, coordination between teams of several departments, utilizing several shared infrastructural resources.

(b) Managing human resource, technology and material.



4. I was Instrumental in working out the procedure to be followed by the Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair for sub-contracting of ship repairs and procurement with reference to the laid down Government and Navy Orders. This helped the organistaion to streamline the procedure and to achieve the results in a time bound manner.

Aug 2002-Aug 2004- Manager (Resource Procurement) and Asst. Manager (Engg) at a Naval Shipyard

Aug 2004 till date- Manager (Planning Support) at a Naval Shipyard
