Skils
Well rounded engineer with good leadership skills and the ability and aptitude to operate, troubleshoot, and repair shipboard equipment. I am a very competent and determined person with a willingness to learn and desire to succeed
Through my time with Young Brothers I gained the hands on experience to perform maintenance on medium speed diesel engines and their auxiliary equipment. In addition, as the only engine onboard while underway, I became proficient in making due with the limited tools and equipment onboard, and in making repairs and improvements to the plant through research, fabrication, and ingenuity. Theses skills have been a large advantage on the fast ferry and have given me a foundation to build upon. The Hawaii Superferry is a technologically advanced vessel, which has given me the opportunity to dig deep into the computer control and automations that the tugboats lacked. In addition, I play a leadership and training role, along with the responsibilities to the passengers. I am eager to utilize the skills and education I have gained to continue learning and contributing to the marine industry.
