As the manager of the Marine department at GTE Co.

“Cummins Engines Agency in the state of Kuwait.”

Responsible for

1.Marine consultant office.

2.Design of new built Vessel complete machinery and propulsion system plus stern gear.

3.Vessels overhauling / repair and Dry- docking projects.

4.Vessels Main Propulsion diesel engines re- powering projects.

5.Vessels repair and Dry- docking projects.

6.Sales and after sales activity for Cummins / MerCruiser Marine diesel engine and Onan gen.set.

(2) - December / 2003 -- until July /2004

As a Marine Technical Superintendent at (SUB SEA FUGRO GEOTEAM)

petroleum Services Company.

Responsible for

1)Establishes the annual maintenance plan including budgetary study. Plus supervising the company fleet dry-docking, repair and classification society surveys.

2)Conducts planned, unplanned audits, inspections “Classification Societies “.

3)Design of the Vessels necessary systems modifications.

4)Conduct in-house training for the company technical vendors.

5)Liaises with the administration regarding renewal, upgrading, and expansion of the company fleet.

6)Managing all technical activities (Selection & Design ) of the company projects for the New built Vessels.



(3) –October/ 2001 – December/ 2003.



A)- As a project Manager at MCV company (agency of Mercedes Bens Commercial vehicle and GERMAN diesel engine type MTU) in EGYPT.

- Managing a workforce of 36 technicians, 4 mechanical engineers and electrical engineer.

Responsible for ;

1.The over-hauling Process of main propulsion diesel engines Type MTU (20 V 538 TB 91) Marine diesel engine 4500 BHP at 1800 r.p.m.

2.Machining Process of all engines moving part (Crank Drive Group) and measuring & NDT testing process.

3.Managing the spare parts division up to 1816 item per one engine(Maintenance kit only) for normal engine conditions.

4.Implementing Main / Auxiliary engines different systems installations and alignments procedures,

engine run-in schedule & the Main engine HAT & SAT trial at full load & full speeds.

B)- As a Marine Assistant Manager, at MCV company

“MTU Marine Engines agency in Egypt.”

Managing 12 employees, 3 sales engineers and 2 after sales engineers.Responsible for;

1.A tern key projects of vessels overhaul and dry-docking repair including main / auxiliary machineries overhauling and repair.

2.The technical support of the entire Navy ships powered with MTU marine diesel engines.

3.Supervise the process of the new built vessels regarding the main / auxiliary machineries , related systems and re-design of the haul propulsion system .

4.All sales / marketing activities and market study for marine propulsion diesel engine and generators- sets on board M/ Vessels.

5.As a side job, supervising the maintenance programs for Mercedes Benz heavy vehicles and industrial generators sets & Hydraulic systems and components.



(4)- January/ 1998 – October/2001 .

At the Egyptian Navy as head of technical department (Fleet Technical Superintendent ) consists of six Vessels 500 ton displacement each.

-Leading a crew of 48 technicians + six Maine chief Engineers and three electrical Engineers.

Responsible of;

1.Planning and supervise the repair, maintenance and inspection activities for ships at dry – docking e.g. (ship hull , welding and plating process; sea chest, water inlet valve; pumps and piping systems, stern gear, shaft line equipments, ship tanks and cathodic protection system).

2.Marine workshops involved with the repair process of: -

a- Marine main propulsion diesel engines.

b- Marine generator sets.

c- Hydraulic steering gear, elector / hydraulic stabilizer,pneumatic/ hydraulic ) or electronic main propulsion control system and propulsion alarm system .

d- Ships air conditioning and refrigeration system.

e- Marine gear boxes .

3.The technical Training division & qualification of junior engineers, ships technicians and crew men.

4.Fire fighting and damage control division.

5.Technical support spare parts division.

6.Management and supervision of the ships new built projects.



(5)- From first of July /1989.

Served at the Egyptian Navy active duty, as a Marine Chief Engineer on board a ship of 21,000 BHP.

-Leading a crew of 8 technicians and Electrical Engineer.

Responsible for:

Supervising the maintenance programs and corrective actions for the flowing equipments:

1.Four units 4500 BHP Main Propulsion diesel engines and their reduction gear boxes and clutches.

2.Three 175 KVA Volvo Penta marine generator – sets.

3.Fresh water, fuel oil, lubricating oil, seawater pumps plus their pipe lines and accessories

4.Three A/C plants & the refrigeration system.

5.Two H.P Air compressors (215 bars) and H.P lines pressure reducers and regulators.

6.Hydraulic steering gear & Electro / hydraulic stabilizer fins.

7.Main propulsion plants pneumatic control systems.

8.Four propeller shaft lines and stern gear equipments.

9.Dry-docking repairs & hull NDT inspections.



Accomplishment

1.Managing & Supervise New built Vessels / major re-fit and overhaul projects .

2.Managing & Supervise a major project for vibration analysis and remedy for 500 ton Vessel with 18.000 hp at Four shaft lines and a speed of 42 knots.

4.Management and supervision of the Re-powering project of new main propulsion diesel engine type ‘MTU’ model: “12V 2000 M91” on- board the Coast Guard boats at the Naval shipyard

5.Create a Trouble Shooting system and repair procedures for main propulsion diesel engine & coupled gear box and propeller shaft line equipments.

6.Create a fault detection program and flow chart for the repair process of main propulsion diesel engine pneumatic control system, and compressed air supply system.

7.Create an Automatic alarm and water discharging system for the Vessels flooded bilges & compartments

8.Create an on-site training program and system simulation for fresh graduate Marine engineers


Education


1)Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Power Engineering, from ‘The Military Technical College’ from

October 1984 to July 1989, with "Good" Degree and “Excellent “ grade in “Marine Graduation Project”.



2)Diploma on Marine sciences and Naval Architectures, at the Egyptian Naval & Maritime Institute , Alexandria , Egypt. on August/ 1989

3)Certified and Qualified as a “Marine Chief Engineer" Arab Maritime Academy & The Egyptian Naval and Maritime Institute 'on 1997.

1)Full – time Training course on R- 033 MTU diesel engines Hydraulic Governors maintenance and

major – overhaul activities and adjustments on test rig.
