Engineering Contractor January 2009- February 2009
• Conversion of the SS Delta Queen steam boat to permanent land-based hotel. Work included designing a new maintenance program and the conversion of ship electrical systems, sewage systems, fire main system, and potable water system for land-based applications.
Majestic America Line January 2007- Nov. 2008 1A/E SS Delta Queen
First Assistant Engineer on the historic paddlewheeler. Responsible for steam plant operation, maneuvering, and all mechanical systems. Supervised entire engine room staff and all mechanical repairs. Enforced safety compliance and the preventative maintenance program. Also took part in start-up/shut-down operations and lay-up work on paddlewheel boats SS American Queen and SS Mississippi Queen.
Inland Lakes Management February- December 2006 3A/E SS Alpena and SS Iglehart
Watch standing Third Assistant Engineer on the cement carriers on the Great Lakes. Supervised the unlicensed staff, safety procedures, and proper operations of the engine room and boiler room.

Watch standing Third Assistant Engineer shipping iron-ore. In charge of steam propulsion turbines and steam plant operation. Assisted in repairs of the main conveyor belt and other cargo transfer equipment.

Watch standing Third Assistant Engineer on pre-positioning roll-on/roll-off vessel. Responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of the main propulsion engines, diesel generators, air compressors, pumps, purifiers, and sewage treatment plant.
