Marine Engineer (Engineer Watchkeeper)

Secure a job as an Engineer Watchkeeper and progress to 2nd Engineer.


Experience


11.5 years in the Australian Navy.



14 FEB 2008 - 10 DEC 2009- Urgent Defect and Mantenannce Manager. Shore based position planning REFIT's Maintenance Periods. Organising out of hours work. Working with a $3,000,000 budget for a refit, $550,000 for a maintenance period (2 a year) and approx $1,000,000 for Urgent Defects.



12 FEB 2006-13 FEB 2008 3rd Engineer on a Mine Hunter ( 60m, Med Spd Diesel CPP, 3x Aux Prop Units). This time also included approx 7 months as the 2nd engineer.



FEB 2004-11 FEB 2006 Fire Fighting & Damage Control Instructor as well as teaching New Entry Officers about life at sea and Confined Spaces, Man aloft routines, Divers in the water etc.



SEPT 2001-FEB 2004 3rd Claw(Equivilant to trainee Engineer). Also included being the Damage Control Yeoman(Person who looks after all fire fighting and damage control equipment). Small boats maintainer and boat driver for boarding operations.



Jan 2000-SEP 2001 Workshop duties in the shipwrights workshop, which included assisting with dry docking Patrol Boats, welding and fabrication, machining and diesel Maintenance.
