Occupation : Cadetship - I served on Container-, Bulk Carrier- and General Cargo vessels.
: Served as Junior Refrigeration Engineer on board Safmarine “Big Whites” with port-hole reefer system.
As part of the cadetship I underwent training with
shore-based facilities, in welding, fitting and turning, general electrical repairs, and refrigeration
I completed my cadetship in 1994, after gaining Class 4 (Motor) foreign-going certificate.

Occupation : Received Class 2(Motor) foreign going certificate in 1999.
Served 2nd Engineer on container ships and Cape
size bulk carriers.
Day to day management and operation of the engine room and the engine room personnel, as well as having to plan the maintenance for the engine room.
Received Class 1 (Motor) certificate in June 2004.
Promoted to Chief Engineer in November 2004 while serving on Tasman Provider.
January 2005 seconded ashore as Assistant Superintendent to oversee docking of two vessels at Unithai Shipyard.
Attending Chief Engineer for 3 vessels being
lengthened in China. This involved co-ordination
between the vessel and the dockyard in preparation and completion of work onboard the vessel.
June 2006 seconded to Steamships Shipping, Papua New Guinea (a subsidiary of John Swire and Sons) as Project Manager to refit the m.v.Bosset Chief in Cairns.
In August 2006, proceeded with the Obo Chief
conversion project, whereby I did the planning and design to convert the vessel from a bulk carrier to an oil tanker.
December 2006, was appointed Coastal Shipping Manager for Steamships Coastal Shipping, operating 12 vessels.
As manager I am responsible for both the commercial and technical management of the fleet.
In October 2007 I also took over the management of Marine Engineering Services, after it was incorporated into the company.
The dockyard has 4 slipways, capable of docking
vessels up to 1000t, with a licensed life raft service centre and a Lloyds Register approved fire suppression equipment workshop.
