Use my theoretical knowledge and practical experience with a shipping company being onshore to improve shipping. This at the same time gives me more exposure to maritime industry and chance to learn more each day. Vessel Operation
•Technical operation and maintenance of vessel – Navigation, Deck and Engine Room.
•Co-ordinate vessel maintenance during port call and during normal operation.
•Implement Planned Maintenance System and Work and Risk Assessment.
•Ensure adequate spare supply and proper inventory maintained on vessels.
•Meet the statutory requirements for drydocks.
•Involved in the vendor selection process to ensure the optimization of supply lead times, cost & risk of
loss time.
•Check daily and monthly reports from the Masters and Chief Engineers
Health, Safety and Environment
•Implementation of the company policies and QHSE management systems and safety standards
•Analyze project for operational risks, and ensure that job safety analysis and permit to work system is
effectively followed.
Auditing and Surveys
•Carry out internal audits to ensure compliance with the HSE and Quality management systems.
•Co-ordinate Classification Society, charterer and third party surveys and inspections.
•Ensure closeout for the observations and defects identified during surveys.
•Played lead role in identifying defects and co-ordinating the modification of newly constructed fleet during new building and during commissioning.
•Re-instating of vessel post Fuel Oil contamination; damage repairs due to collision, grounding
•Handled vessel operation all over U.A.E., Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iran.
•Aware of operational requirements of various clients – Dubai Petroleum, Maersk, Total, Qatar Petroleum, ARAMCO etc.

Junior Engineer (August 2007 – Nov 2008)
•Able to work as First Assistant Engineer on the critical machineries of the ship.
•Gained valuable insights in International trade and maritime logistics while increasing knowledge of the concept of spot markets in oil tanker trade. Studied cultures of different countries.
•Invaluable experience of sailing on Gas carrier & Crude Oil Carrier (VLCC) as a first assistant engineer and able to learn about more machineries and able to get more hand on experience on the various machineries while carrying out various routine and breakdown maintenance. Was able to handle the operation of the plant.
•Able to work as a key team member comprising of the multi national crew.

•Worked in a cross functional team comprised of engineering, inventory management and budgeting personnel to create and execute a simplified planned maintenance system of the ship’s machinery.
•Invaluable experience of sailing on BulkCarrier as Engine Cadet and able to learn about more machineries and able to get more hand on experience on the various machineries while carrying out various routine and breakdown maintenance. Was able to handle the operation of the plant.
•Involved in the rescue of 14 crew members of MV Unicorn Ace.
