Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ships structures, propulsion systems, electrical generation and distribution, domestic and associated mechanical services.
• Responsibilities also include the Main and Auxiliary machinery, engines, automatic and remote control systems, hydraulics, air conditioning and refrigeration, ventilation systems, electrical generation and equipments.
• Supervise and assist the Assistant Engineers onboard in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of machineries and equipments onboard.
• Provide a safe environment and inculcate the safety aspects in the minds of the crew onboard at all times and give them additional training if required.
• Ensuring the safe operation of the vessel's engine room and machinery spaces in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations.
• Involved in the care and upkeep of Generators and electrical installations.
• Report any non-conformity to office, find solution and rectify the defects.
• Monitor failure, develop and evaluate proposed modification and repair schemes, supervise and evaluate equipment trials.
• Involved with resource management, assigning and scheduling personnel, assets and equipment to the task at hand.
• Adhere to Marpol, SOLAS, ISPS and ILO regulations and keep updated with the latest rules and regulations.
• Have experience on receipt on receipt of Fuel oil and lube oil bunkers and supervise the handling, replenishing and transfer operations of the bunkers and control of emission gases.
• Impart training to crew and follow risk assessment and checklists before carrying out a job.
• Have knowledge in testing and maintenance of critical equipments and testing of alarms and trips of machinery.

• Technically qualified professional having experience of over 16 years.
• Currently, associated with Univan Ship Management Ltd, Hongkong as Chief Engineer.
• Hold experience in dry-docking the vessel as Chief Engineer.
• Excellence in working on Marine machineries and equipments. Follow schedule maintenance of machinery and equipment vital for safety, reliable vessel operation or as required by regulatory and classification bodies. Directly involved in keeping the machineries and equipments in state of complete operational readiness at all times.
• Skilled in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of Main Engines, Auxiliary engines, Boilers, Air compressors, Oil purifiers, Air condition and refrigeration plants and other auxiliary machineries and equipments onboard.
• Undergone various safety related training courses onboard as well as in shore.
• Ability to implement new methods and best safe working practices for the best interest of the vessel.
• Hold experience in maintaining the machinery records and logbooks.
• Possess a keen eye for detail with proven effectiveness to work and multitask in competitive, team-oriented and fast-paced environments
