Work Experience
• From December 17, 2011 till present working in the Security Industry (Securitas Canada Ltd and Contemporary Security Services) as Security officer and as OFA Level 2 Attendant at Vancouver Convention Centre, Chevron Refinery, Canada Post and at various other locations and at the same time applying for Power Engineer jobs.
• From May 6, 2011 till Oct 4, 2011 worked afloat as Chief Engineer on board 63,000 DWT Bulk Carrier propelled by 16,800 P.S. Sulzer 7RND76 Diesel Engine, the ship owned by Stanships Inc. New York, NY 10004, USA.
• From September 20, 2010 till December 15, 2010, worked as Boiler Safety Officer with British Columbia Safety Authority carrying out inspections of Boilers, Refrigeration Plants and HVAC Systems at various industrial, commercial and residential facilities in Vancouver, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope and Mission. Prior to the above job was also selected and offered Thermal Plant Operations Technician job by BC Hydro.
• Migrated to Canada in June, 2007 and from August, 2007 till mid 2010 underwent six STCW marine courses at BCIT Marine Campus, North Vancouver, and studied and passed five marine engineering examinations conducted by Transport Canada to ultimately acquire First Class Engineer, Steamship and Motorship Certificates of Competency and at the same time working part time as Marine Surveyor and OFA Level 2 Security Officer.
• From 1972 till December, 2006, served as Marine Engineer on board merchant navy ships upto 220,000 DWT owned by German, Norwegian, Singapore or British companies and propelled by Steam Turbines up to 32,000 SHP or Diesel Engines upto 29,000 BHP, the last 16 years as Chief Engineer. During the above period worked also as Chief Engineer of a Five Star Hotel (Oberoi Group) and also part time as instructor with British Institute of Engineering Technology, Bombay, India.
