Objective
I would like to continue my carreer in the Marine field to hopefully become a Chief Engineer. I have attended Texas Maritime Academy though i did not complete my training due to financial reasons. However I am very motivated and can learn quickly any aspects of marine engineering i have not experienced so far.
Experience
Worked aboard the Texas Clipper II as a cadet engineer in the summer of 2005. As well as aboard the USNS Supply for Military Sealift Command in the same capacity in the summer of 2006. Worked for Rayn Marine Inc. as a Deckhand/Relief engineer from January to July of 2008. At all of these positions i advanced my knowledge of the marine field a great deal through hard work and experience. Since July of 2008 I have worked as a pipefitter fabricator at many diffierent heavy industrial construction projects in the Texas gulf coast region. This has also helped my Marine understanding in that it allowed me to learn new techniques that can be used in the Marine Engineering field.
Education
I attended Texas A&M University at Galveston as part of the Texas Maritime Acadamy Corps. of Cadets from 2004 to 2007 and then again for one semester in 2009.
Certification
I have my TWIC card as well as a certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research to be a Journeymen Pipefitter.
Skils
I have a great understanding of pumps, power tools, and diesel engines. I can get along with most anyone i meet and am willing to relocate. I have no problem asking questions and trying to learn new things. I have found the problem with and repaired many different systems aboard ships includeing saltwater evaporators, pumps, and multiple types of valves.
I have completed several courses such as Basic Marine Engineering, Calculus I, College Algebra, and other higher mathematical classes that would give me a good understanding and working platform in this field. I also have good work experience from the two cruises I completed and the construction experience I have, as well as my time working for Ryan Marine Industries. I look forward to working for a company that will use the knowledge I have gained and let me further this knowledge. I have worked since I was 14 years old and have an excellent work ethic.
