Experience
Ensure Operation Readiness and availability of an ocean going Federal Government Research Ship engaged in scientific research of fisheries, ocean habitat, and oceanographic scientific research. The ship has 2 propulsion Z Drives, 3 service generators, a bow thruster, a diesel main engine, a emergency generator, a dynamic positioning system, 2 winches, and 2 heavy lift cranes.
Responsible for maintaining, preservation, and operations of shipboard equipment, including electrical system, plumbing systems, air condition and refrigeration systems, sewage system, propulsion systems, hydraulic systems, and fabrication and welding for the ship and for the scientific parties and their mission. Also to include daily, weekly and monthly shipboard maintenance including equipment lubrication, filter, condenser, zinc anode and strainer cleaning and replacement, and major and minor service and repair of 4 generators and main engine.
Maintain and repair 3 work boats and 1 rescue boat to include 12 volt DC electrical diagnosis, and all other maintenance and repair for ship missions.
Responsible for all engineer inventories of spares, consumable parts, and tools. Also to include purchasing of most items in the engineer department.
