Duties Performed and Responsibilities undertaken as
Marine Engineer:
• Maintenance and repairs on vessel systems as directed by the chief engineer and according the preventive maintenance system.
• Operation and maintenance of Oil Purifiers, Fresh Water Generation Plant, Heat Exchangers, Compressors, Diesel Generators and Pumps.
• Operation and maintenance of Refrigeration System onboard.
• Operation and maintenance of Centralized Air Conditioning system onboard.
• Engine Room Watch keeping as duty engineer, maintaining optimal performance of all machinery space equipments.
• Responsible for updating machinery history records, log books, maintenance plans, inventories, and preparing timely requisitions for spare parts.
• Conducting weekly and monthly preventive maintenance checks on automated heavy duty equipments and machineries, to prevent unscheduled stoppage.
• Managing potable water, testing and treatment, storage of bulk lube oil and routine testing of lube oils in various engineering systems.
• Conducting Risk Assessment and taking Work Permit prior starting maintenance works.
• Carrying out Planned Maintenance using Computerized Maintenance Management System (NS5).
Education
Bachelor Degree (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, with first class, from Government Engineering College-Thrissur, affiliated to University of Calicut
Graduate Marine Engineering one year training and certificate (D.G Shipping approved), from Cochin Shipyard Limited, Kochi.
All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination and All India Secondary School Certificate Examination of Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi passed with Distinction.
