Instruct hundreds of high school students Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) curriculum which emphasizes citizenship and leadership development, as well as our country’s maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation and shipboard construction. Many hours of instruction is augmented throughout the year by community service activities, drill competition, field meets, military flights, ship visits, visits to naval activities, marksmanship training, and numerous fund raising events.

Aug 1996, last assignment was aboard a high endurance cutter as the Engineering Officer Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant, Served 12 years of a 20 year career afloat. Served as the Chief Engineer aboard three separate commands. Managed and maintained complex shipboard machinery to include large diesel engines, controllable pitch propellers, gas turbines, marine reduction gears, fire pumps and hotel services such as HVAC, steam boilers, plumbing, septic and potable water systems along with fuel and oil handling. Coordinated dockside availabilities and dry dock repairs on several small boats and Coast Guard ships, oversaw an engineering budget in excess of $250,000.00 on several different platforms.
