Responsible for maintaining records pertaining to the planning, scheduling of material procurement, actual versus estimated cost of projects done on various vessels. Responsible for scheduling dry-dock maintenance, writing work packages to submit to various shipyards for competitive bidding. Using Colonnas Shipyard in Norfolk, VA participates in the development and establishes the guidelines in the preparation of job orders and material schedules to include the Kort nozzle reconstruction project, flanking rudder repair, new shaft, ensured all appropriate shaft runouts were accomplished, airtesting, on Kurt nozzle, rudder repair, bottom paint, testing and completion and ensure contract remained on budget. Responsible for the review of all job orders and material requirements for correct content and cost validity.
Directs and performs the engineering department's ship systems operations, maintenance and repair functions. Stands engine room watches at sea or in port. Performs engineering systems maintenance and report work as required. Keeps required records, logs and reports.
