2005 – Present , Marine Engineer – Derecktor Shipyard, Bridgeport, CT



Responsible for all dry-docking plans for vessel haul outs involving 600 metric ton travel lift and 1,500 ton floating dry-dock. Develop blocking arrangements, process instructions and CAD .drawings. Coordinate any technical support required for scheduled service work. Provide technical support/for USCG, Class and MCA tests and certifications. Responsible for the technical aspects of all quality processes during repair and launch. Provide facility construction and improvement projects including design, material selection and supervision. Provides mechanical and electrical calculations to the entire facility as requested by management.



2000-2005 Chief Engineer Officers – Aboard different flag vessels



As a Chief engineer, my responsibilities in this positions included vessel management, maintenance supervision, repair and refit of ship machinery, engines, generators, desalination plants, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, refrigeration and air condition plants, marine auxiliary machinery, and electric plants. More than 15 years of progressively responsible hands-on and management experience in the maintenance repair, modification, overhaul, and installation of heavy marine equipment and machinery. Expertise includes electrical, water, fuel, lubrication, hydraulic, power plant, motor control and related systems and components.



1999-2000 Head of Construction Department – Astillero Comodoro Shipyard - Argentina



Lead construction of both a Shipyard and a Synchrolift from concept to completion. Responsible for project management and led all aspects of installation, welding, electrical controls, alignment and testing.



1997-1999 Port Engineer – Intermed Navigation S.A. - Greece



Developed processes for both routine and unique maintenance programs to assure vessel readiness and safety. Duties included maintenance, repair and refit of ship machinery, engines, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, refrigeration, HVAC, marine auxiliary machinery, and electric plants. Provided technical support to fleet engineers and mechanical/electrical technicians to assure correct maintenance and repair procedures and compliance with applicable codes. Managed maintenance crews, repairs and subcontractors to budget and schedule. Generated purchase requisitions and recommendations for all purchased materials and components. Managed interface and auditing with classification and licensing agencies. Reported to Vice-President, Technical Department.



1980 - 1997 Vice-president - Shipyard of Romania



Responsibilities included managing ship repairs, planning, assignment of repair activities to eight production departments, and supervising quality functions. Included the organization and leadership of 280 subordinates.
