Objective
After having sailed for a long time I wish to settle ashore with an executive level job inline with my professional field
Experience
1)With Shipping Corporation of India from 1978 to 1986 . Started as 5th Engineer and rose to the position of 2nd Engineer .
2)From November 1986 to June 1987 worked for Berber shipmanagement , a Hongkong based Ship manager as 2nd Engineer . 3)From September 1988 to July 1989 I worked for Unique Shipping Agencies Ltd. , Hongkong based Ship manager as 2nd Engineer .
4)Since Oct. ’89 I was engaged as freelance consultant alongwith a senior partner for about 15 months and was primarily involved in preparing project reports for the clients .
b.Worked for about 9 months as Dy. Chief Engr. in Skol Breweries .
c.From September ’91 to November ’93 was working with Wartsila Diesel , as Incharge for their Branch office being responsible for all activities of the region, mainly, After sales service and customer support. Most impotant client being Tata Steel.
5)Sailed with Essar shipping in '96-'96 as 2nd engineer
6)Joined Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd. , a Hongkong based Ship manager in February ’96 as 2nd Engineer . Promoted to Chief Engineer on August ’97 .Sailed as Chief Engineer till May 2001.
7)Joined as teaching faculty in a Maritime institute and worked their between 2001 and 2004
8)Joined back Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd. as Chief Engoneer and working their till date.
Responsibilities:
Head of the Engineering department. Fully responsible for all Engineering activities of the ship in respect of Maintenance ; Spares ; Fuel ; Motivation , discipline and training of the staff and Economic running of the vessel .
Ensure that vessel is adequately equipped in all respects to have a safe and smooth sailing in high seas and schedule arrival at all ports of call .
Education
School: Board of Secondary Education of West Bengal in 1974 in 1st Division .
College: Graduation Examination from Directorate of Marine Engineering & Training College , Calcutta , in 1978 , with 1st Class . This was the only Govt. of India approved Marine Engg. college then. The college being under the Ministry of Shipping, with no affliation to a University or Ministry of Education, regular engineering degree could not be given instead a graduation certificate was given.

1. M.O.T. 1st class ( Motor ) Certificate of competency in March 1984 .
2. All IMO STCW'95 certificates
3. IMO approved Training for trainer and assessors
4. ISO 9000 internal auditors certificate
