Experience
Summary of Experience: 22 years Experience in the field of Marine engineering / Operation /Maintenance / Construction.
Presently, working as a Technical Superintendent for reputed Shipping Company in U.A.E. since December, 2002. Fleet consists of 21 Product/Chemical tankers ranging 5000dwt to panamax and successfully completed CAS & CAP with LRS & BV for four panamx vessels and all company vessels dry docking are done by me.
Duties and responsibilities:
Maintenance and repairs of company vessels, in order to ensure:
1. Vessels are maintained as per international regulations and company procedures.
2. Ensuring that all Statutory and Classification surveys for all plant and equipment on our fleet ship are carried out.
3. Control of assigned budget.
4. Providing technical support and expertise to the vessels.
5. Dealing with non-conformities.
6. Regular inspection of the vessels.
7. Preparation of repair specifications, and supervising the execution of the work.
8. Investigating major machinery failures and any resulting insurance claims.
9. Ensuring that repair time is minimized without detracting from the safety of the ship or its personnel.
10. Overseeing Engineer’s thoroughness in reporting machinery problem, recording accidents in deck and
Engine log books and maintaining machinery inspection reports in accordance with company procedures.
11. Pre-planning/ preparation of vessel Dry-docking specifications in advance and submitting repair specification to company prior to a scheduled dry dock period.
12. Co-ordination and follow up of surveys, repairs and relevant certificates.
13. Trace ability of each company vessel’s position, activities and operational status transported cargo (including owner, types properties and distribution.
14. Spare parts – initial evaluation of requisitions and consumption monitoring.
15. Interviewing New Chief Engineer-briefing them on Safety Management system and company’s procedure before their assignment to company vessels.
16. Participating in S.M.S review meetings.
17. Maintenance and repair of Navigational & Radio Equipments.
18. Keeping relevant records.
19. Planning monitoring of Hull/Deck maintenance and reviewing of all relevant reports.
20. Ensuring ISM is maintained in fleet vessels.
21. to provide technical supervision, supervise dry-dockings and the selection of dry-dock, ensuring repair specifications and all regulations are met, ordering spare parts, preparing maintenance criteria and managing ships budgets
22. Propose and implement solutions, monitor the ships condition, ensure the vessel has up to date documentation and meets the required safety standards and managing the ships budgets as well as producing regular reports.
23. Team responsible for the technical and financial controlling of Group owned vessels managed by our affiliated companies (including the approval and monitoring of annual budgets and quarterly reports). Provide technical input into new building projects, including negotiating with shipyards and suppliers. . Represent the Company's interests in various shipping associations and towards official authorities, vetting organizations, etc.

Ship Repair Superintendent at Arab Heavy Industries (AHI) DRYDOCK IN AJMAN U.A.E
Period of Service; From August 2001 to December 2002
Duties:
1. I have docked more than 33 vessels under my supervision, tanker, cargo vessel, bulk carriers, container vessel, LNG, ro-ro passenger, offshore drilling units and other heavy fabrications job during my tenure.
2. I have gained the experience from all these type of vessels and directly handling the jobs to achieve the deadline for the completion of jobs.
3. Conducting the production meeting with management, and ship owner as well coordinate with sub contractors, and maintaining the quality and ISO requirement and safety regulation of the yard.
4. Inspecting the locations for hot work to make sure that the hot work location is gas free for issuing the hot work permit with Safety officer.
5. Assisting the commercial department for time of quotation and invoicing as and when required
6. Responsible for the execution of all the work scope awarded by the ship-owners and coordinate with the relevant department heads.
7. Inspection of hull, tanks, structural repairs, mechanical works such as Tail shaft, Rudder, Propeller, Stern bush remove-al & refit, repairs & maintenance, Overhauling engine, Sea valves, Blasting & Painting of hull and ensuring all the works carried out with the classification society requirement..
Ship Repair Manager in Maritech Engineering Services, In Sri- Lanka
Period from: 15th May 1997 to July 2001.
Duties as follows:-
Maritech Engineering Services is an afloat ship repairing company in Sri Lanka territorial water.
I was in charge for the all nature of afloat repairs in the srilanka territorial water under taken by the company and time to time visit to the ships at anchorage and follow up of ongoing work and solving any difficulties arises during the work being carried out.

Sri Lanka Navy
Duties as follows:
1. 12 years experience as Chief Engine Room artificer on board various Sri- Lankan Naval ships and Naval Docking yard organizations of which 10 years in Senior Supervisory cadre. Successfully performed the duties of “Maintenance Engineer” Having experience as follows:-
2. Operation and planned preventive maintenance of Engine Room machineries such as Main Engines and its accessories , Auxiliary Engines, boilers, oily water separator .fresh water generator ,pumps, Air condition system, steering system
3. Operation and planned Preventive maintenance of hull Structure and deck machineries / equipments such as Anchor, windlass, Capstan, Power winches, Derrick and Davits, Mobile / Gantry Cranes, Pumps, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems, Fresh water and Sea water supply System including various types of valves.
4. Refit Co- coordinator for docking, underwater repairs and undocking of various Sri Lankan Naval Ships in Naval Dockyards and Commercial dry docks.
5. Structural survey of hull structures viz visual Inspection, and ultrasonic test. Sand/ Grit blasting, structural repairs and underwater hull treatment.
6. Worked as an Instructor, at Engineering school of Naval and Marine Academy of SRI_LANKA from October 1991 to October 1994.
