Experience:
I have experience on fully refrigerated LPG carriers, VLCCs, stand by vessels, RoRo passenger ferries, supply and anchor handling vessels.
Operation and maintenance of ships purifiers, fuel systems, compressors and compressed air system.
Experience in main engine maintenance and servicing
In charge of 6 to 12 watch operating and monitoring large steam plant and turbines used to drive the cargo pumps during cargo operations
In charge of 8 to 12 watch during sea going operations keeping main engine and associated systems within safe working parameters.
Have had experience with extensive emergency repairs on main engine.
Dry dock experience on L.P.G. Tankers Standby Vessels and Ro-Ro Ferries.

3rd Engineer
Working a 2 month on 2 month off rotta in charge of the 8 to 12 watch doing suply anchor handling and towing, mainly west africa and some in the far east. I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of engine room machinery. I was also directly involved in pumping cargo up to the rig ie gas oil, fresh water, brine, mud, cement, etc. I was also responsible for keeping engine room log records and main engine and auxiliary machinery hours records.

2nd Engineer
Sailing on a 2 week on 2 week of rota from st Margaret’s Hope to gills bay. I was responsible for the general running of the engine room, i.e. running up the engines in the morning and shutting them down at night and keeping watch during the day whilst on passage. I was also responsible for keeping engine room log records and main engine and auxiliary machinery hours records and ensure all maintenance is carried out correctly and safely. I would also order spares, stores and tools etc.

Sailing as third engineer on the Shetland Service doing month on month off stand by operations in the North Sea. I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the engine room during the 12 to 4 watch. Involved with main engine and generator maintenance and carrying out all engine room duties.

Sailing on the Grampian Guardian and the Grampian Monarch doing month on month off stand by operations in the North Sea. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the engine room during the 12 to 4 watch. Involved with main engine and generator maintenance and carrying out all engine room duties.

M/V Lincolnshire 4th Engineer
In charge of the 8 to 12 watch while the ship was at sea. My Duties were to operate and maintain the purifiers and ships fuel system, compressors and compressed air system, testing and treating the boiler and main engine fresh water, burning of garbage and sludge every day, make sure all bilges and sludge transfers are completed and logged properly in compliance with regulations.

In charge of the 8 to 12 watch working with one oiler (during cargo operations), when full away on passage we would work an unmanned system. I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ships fuel transfer and purification systems, compressors and compressed air system, disposal of waste oil and sludge, monitoring steam turbines and 20 bar water tube boilers during cargo operations.

I carried out most of the 4th engineers duties and gained knowledge to work as 4th engineer.
LPG/C Havmann M/V Havkong. Cadet
Worked on my cadetship learning about the ships systems and machines. Went to dry dock with the Havmann, also with the Havmann the aft turbocharger rotor collapsed in its casing completely destroying it. We dismantled the turbo and blanked it off so we could use the engine to get to the nearest port where we fitted a new one.
