03/89 – 09/94 Sedco – Forex / Schlumberger – offshore semisubmersible oil rigs
‘ oil drilling, exploring and production company – division of marine
drilling
Initiating at the company like DMS apprentice (Data Monitoring
System of Propulsion System for Dynamic Positioning) like operator
in the control-room for all propulsion equipment of submersible oil
rig. Promoted to DMS operator in 09/89 untill 01/91. Transferred to
production rig Sedco 135-D like chief mechanic from 01/91 to 11/92.
Continued like chief mechanic on the submersible Sedco 709 (SS-32)
reporting directly to rig superintendent.
Job specifications:
Equipment preventive and corrective maintenance.
Organization of teams for replacement of equipment with speed and
efficiency avoiding down-time or stopping of oil rig operation.
Assembly of equipment and reduction of costs of maintenance.
Obs: The oil rig like working enviroment was of MODU type (Mobile
Off-shore Drilling Unit) for perforations at high seas until 1200
meters deeep with GS positioning,power generating capacity
up to 45 000 KW for proper propulsion system with submersed
thrusters.
Chief mechanic on the oil rig SS-06 or Sedco 135-D reporting dire-
ctly to rig superintendent.
Job specifications:
Preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment on the oil and
gas production rig with an accent on avoiding down-time and safety
of production. Heavy equipment assembly jobs. Spares stock control.
09/88 – 03/89 Tidewater Crewing Limited – American multinational company in
business with oil rig supply tugs and crew transports. In Brasil the
head office is (was) in Macae, state of Rio de Janeiro.
Supplier tug 2º engineer, reporting to chief engineer. Responsible for
maintenace of all supplier tug equipment.
06/86 – 05/88 “Veljko Kosanovic” – yacht manufacturing shipyard – medium size
( 25 people directly in production). Shipyard and factory for motor and
sailing yachts, service boats and other coastal vessels, located in Jago-
dno / Croatia.
Production department manager – reporting directly to the owner.
Job specifications:
Introducing new aspects in assy. process of fiberglass reinforced
plastic boats with more inssistence on preassembly of single compo-
nents in advance of final joining of boat’s sections.
Contribution in development of the new projects, specially of cats for
service, referee and TV people at water-sport events. Development of
service fishing boats manufactured of fiber reinforced plastics with all
necessary structural changes.
06/83 – 06/86 Shipyard “Uljanik” – Diesel engines factory – manufacturing compa-
ny of cargo vessels, tankers and specialized ships, diesel engine facto-
ry is licenced MAN – B&W heavy engines producer, located in Pula,
Croatia.
Assembly department manager – heavy engines (about 160 workers at
that time),reporting directly to the factory manager.
Job specifications:
Modifications of projects of big diesels, iniciating the period of L and
S models of B&W. Modernisation of assembly methods with use of
bigger cranes and preassembley methods shortening significantly the
assy. Periods. Elaboration of proceeding manuals. Introducing compu-
terized planning and following of assy. process.
Obs: Initiated at the company like production engineer, promoted to
dept. manager in 03/84.
12/77 – 07/82 Denval Marine Consultants – English merchant marine company –
cargo, container and ro-ro ships.
