Marine engine mechanic/oiler

Objective


To pursue an engineering career in your shipping company where my acquired skills can be exploited to the benefit of the company. Long term goal is to aspire for a position of responsibility after adequate training.


Experience


May 2011-Present : M/V Sea Force 1; Oiler/3rd engineer taking part fully in the running

of all machinery onboard.

Jan –May 2011 : M/V Mayumba Express; Oiler assisting chief engineer in repairs of

All machinery onboard standing vessel.

Mar09 to Jun09 :Industrial attachment at the Ghana Port Harbor (GHAPOHA)-Tema.

Skills acquired:-General engineering maintenance, painting,

welding, machining, line tracing etc.

Sep07-Apr08 : From field worker to field work inspector and then supervisor.

Finally industrial processing worker at the CDC Tole tea estate.


Education


Aug08-Dec08: Regional Maritime University (RMU) Accra-Ghana; Certificate of

Training in Marine Engine Mechanics 3.85GPA.

Feb09 : RMU Accra-Ghana; IMO mandatory and certified courses; Basic fire

fighting and fire prevention, Personal survival techniques, Elementary first

aid, Personal safety and social responsibilities, International ship and

Port facility security code, Oil tanker familiarization.

Activities include organized visits with classmates to the Tema Fishing

Harbor studying of engine room and refrigeration layouts onboard

fishing vessels.

Excursion to the Akusombo damp in the Volta Region-Ghana with sailing

experience and engine room skills taught.

Active in school games and took part in lawn tennis and volleyball in the

university.

Oct02-Jul07: University of Buea-Cameroon; Bsc. Chemistry with Material science and

Technology 2.36GPA with 99 credit points attempted and earned. Diploma

obtained in material sciences with emphasis in courses on; Introduction to

Material science and technology (3.5GP), chemical metallurgy (3.0GP),

corrosion science and engineering (2.5GP), technology of organic based

materials (2.0GP), ceramic science and composite materials (2.0GP),

selection and recycling of materials (3.0GP).

Industrial visit to the SOCAVER (Societe Camerounaise de Verrierie)

where production, quality control and certification techniques were done.

Visits to CIMENCAM (Ciment Camerounaise), CDC (Cameroon

Development Cooperation)-Tiko rubber manufacture where quality control

techniques, quality assurance and certification where obtained in the

production.

Activities include holding key positions in sporting clubs and played lawn

tennis, volleyball and athletics. Was course coordinator in numerous

courses.

Protestant College (CPC) Bali-Bamenda; Advanced Level (A/L)
