Experience


Ex US Navy trained Electronics Technician in Surface and Submarine Service. Retired Commissioned Chief Warrant Officer Electronics Technician Specialist. Communications, Radar, Electronic Cooling Systems, Data Communications, Satellite Navigation/Communications/fathometers/closed circuit television and surveillance systems. Electronics repair and installation officer on US Navy's most sophisticated Command, Control, and Communications platform, the USS Blue Ridge LCC-19 the Commander Seventh Fleet Flagship homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. Served over six years in this position. Shipyard Tender Availability Coordinator for all ships projects including deck, engineering, and combat systems.


Education


Bachelor of Science in Electronic Technology.

45 quarter hours in physics upper and lower division.

Additional courses in calculus, linear systems and signals, linear network analysis, Naval Postgraduate School Continuing Education physics (kinematics, rotational dynamics I and II), microprocessors, fiber optics, computer science, micro and macroeconomics, and statistical decision theory.

Numerous leadership and management courses in the US Navy.


Certification


FCC General Radio Operators License with ship radar endorsement.

Valid Merchant Mariner Credential and Transportation Workers ID Card.

Global Maritime Distress and Safety System with ship radar endorsement.

ISCET (International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians) CET (Certified Electronics Technician) Industrial Electronics Journeyman.


Skils


Troubleshooting analog and digital equipment down to component level and replacing bad components. Able to use multimeters, soldering stations, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, frequency counters, microwave power meters, fiber optic meters, and logic probes and pulsers.


 


Presently enrolled in programmable controllers course with the Cleveland Institute of Electronics. Carrying an A+ average. Just completed lessons on DC and AC variable speed drives. A+. Presently also studying applied mechanical vibrations of reciprocating and rotational machinery. Have Fourier, LaPlace, and Z-transform mathematical background. Very interested in preventative/corrective maintenance of vibrational machinery problems.
