WORK HISTORY
AMERICAN SERVICE TECHNOLOGY, INC. (JANUARY 2002-PRESENT) - Technical Instructor/Writer - An Engineering department instructor and curriculum coordinator. Qualified by the U.S. Coast Guard to teach ten courses of instruction. Developed eleven courses of instruction, nine approved by the Coast Guard for Merchant Mariner endorsement and all are approved by ACE for college credit.
U.S. MERCHANT MARINE (FEBRUARY 2000-JANUARY 2002) - Qualified Member of the Engine Department - Sailed on three U.S. flagged vessels on both U.S. coastal and international voyages as electrician, refrigeration engineer and electronics technician. Maintained the ships’ electrical, refrigeration and electronic equipment. Performed voyage repairs and modifications to equipment and systems to improve performance. Supervised overseas shipyard maintenance for the Engine Department.
WELCH EQUIPMENT CO., INC. (APRIL 1998-JANUARY 2000) - Operations/Service Manager - Responsible for the planning and operation of a warehouse equipment dealership including the service, parts, rental, and used equipment departments. Doubled the service department revenue in the first 12 months of my management.
FRITO-LAY, INC. (FEBRUARY 1995-APRIL 1998) - Maintenance Technician - Responsible for maintaining production and distribution equipment. Startup team member, project manager, security supervisor, and HAZMAT/SPCC coordinator for the facility. Proficient in PLC program administration and troubleshooting. Developed preventive maintenance tasks and established their periodicity. Developed SPCC training and monitoring program to meet federal and state guidelines.
AMERICAN PROTECTIVE SERVICES (NOVEMBER 1993-FEBRUARY 1995) - Personnel Manager- Responsible for recruitment and training for the greater than 300 person work force supporting more than 10,000 hours weekly of contract security service. Established the training program that was adopted by the State of Utah as the guide for required training of security officers. Performed background investigations on prospective officers. Reduced turnover by 50%.
GUARD SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (JULY 1993-NOVEMBER 1993) - Sergeant and Site Supervisor - Responsible for training and administration for the security force at AT&T Universal Card Service. As sergeant, I was qualified to perform security officer duties at all business that were contracted by Guard Systems in the greater Salt Lake City area.
U.S. NAVY (MAY 1972-DECEMBER 1992) - Command Master Chief, Chief of the Boat, Master Chief Electrician - Performed duties appropriate to my rating and position at two nuclear power training facilities, on four nuclear submarines, and at an overseas repair facility. I was advanced the first time I was eligible every time from pay grades E3 to E9. I proved an asset at every command where I served receiving two Navy Commendation Medals and one Navy Achievement Medal.
