Marine Deputy, Monroe County Sheriff office/small boat operator

Objective

Obtain a position as a ship security officer.

Experience

As a Marine Deputy, I protected and the served public who used Monroe County's Canadian frontier waters of Lake Erie through education, environmental protection, rescue, law enforcement, and port and border security.

Marine Deputies were responsible for regular infrastructure patrols of three electrical generating power plants (two coal plants, one nuclear plant), patrol of a major bridge over one of the busiest north-south Interstate expressways in the nation (I-75), and port and border security of the commercial harbour Port of Monroe and of the international frontier with Canada. The Monroe County Sheriff Office's marine area of responsibility on Lake Erie extended from the County's southern boundary just north of the City of Toledo, Ohio to the County's northern boundary where the Detroit River empties into Lake Erie.
