Job Responsibilities Held:
- In-charge and responsible for all the Shipboard machineries, Plants, Electrical Systems, Cargo Handling Equipments and Systems.
- Plan and control all operations, activities, maintenance connected with safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
- Evaluate deviations from norms and take measures to ensure operation of same, by familiarizing with the fundamental operating concepts of the deck and engine equipments of the vessels.
- Identify areas which require immediate attention and take corrective actions, report to the Technical Manager.
- In-charge of vessel’s Purchase Order System and preparing annual Budget for the Vessel. Executes the control of consumption of stores and spares to maintain Ship Operating Cost within the Budget.
- Monitor performance of the vessel and ensure that charter party requirements are being fulfilled in respect of Speed, Fuel Consumption.
- Ensure all classification and statutory survey status is maintained, all surveys are carried out within the due dates and that all trading certificates are valid.
- Keep the vessel up to date in order to comply with latest regulatory requirements, Technical Updates and Company Instructions.
- Undertake technical inspections and report on vessels condition, performance and operational readiness raise the reports for any findings or non-conformities and suggest / execute the corrective action.
- Planning and management of dry-dock and wet-dock repairs/renovations including preparing repair specifications and ordering all the required material and spares.
- On site supervision of work undertaken by shore technicians, repair yards and report on work when completed.
- Evaluate the performance of Engineers and Crew on board and Prepare their Appraisal Reports.
- Ensure that all LSA, FFA, Fixed Fire Fighting Systems and Marpol (pollution prevention) Equipments are regularly checked and maintained in perfect working condition with the aim of achieving high standards of safety and pollution free voyages.
- Reporting of Hazards and Incidents, following company procedures, checklists, risk assessments, work permits. Motivate / train all subordinates to follow the system and develop a culture of safety, ensure proper behavior and reporting in accordance with the company safety management system.
