Joined Merchant Navy in 1982 as Deck Cadet, mostly sailed on foreign going foreign flag Oil Tankers, after securing command for 5 years, left sailing in 2002.

Responsibilities:
Being in command of the vessel, I had to undertake total management and administration of about 25-30 crew onboard, planning and maintenance of vessel, safe handling, safe loading/unloading and navigation of vessel. Higher management level correspondence and dealing with Owners, Charterers, Underwriters, Inspectors, Agents, Port Authorities and Coast Guards etc., while at sea and in ports.
While holding ranks other than Master, undertaken various other responsibilities including above at limited levels.
EXPERIENCE ASHORE
From 2002 to 2003 :
Worked as Operation Manager in Unicorn Marine Services Co., Karachi, looking after Freight Forwarding, Manning and Marine Cargo Surveys.
Responsibilities:
Catering needs of clients to procure freight containers for different destinations, brokering of break bulk vessel for clients, manning for a shipping a company in Nigeria, organizing in-house surveyors including self to undertake various marine surveys from the container liners.

From 2002 to 2003 :
A part time Lecturer in College of Nautical Studies, Karachi, gave lectures for Advance Tanker Safety Courses
From 2003 to 2008, :
Worked as Marine Surveyor in Marine Services Co., Ltd., Dammam, Saudi Arabia, an oldest independent Survey Company in Saudi Arabai.
Mainly undertaken assignment as adjuster from the local correspondents of all the major P&I Clubs worldwide, few listed below but not limited to:
UK Mutual, Britania, Standard, London Steamship, North of England, West of England, SKULD, GARD, American Club, Japan P&I, Swidish Club, Steamship Mutual etc. Handled varieties of third party claims for Oil, Chemical, LPG/LNG carriers, General, Bulk and container vessels as enumerated as under:
• Load/unload monitoring to ensure minimum ship/shore discrepancies
• Resolving ship/shore quantity difference disputes
• Pollution related matters
• Damage to port installations while berthing/unearthing
• Death/Casualties onboard
• Grounding/Stranding
