Marine Captain

Objective

I hope to use my combination of knowledge gained in the labor industry, along with my extensive boating education and experience, to transition into a position that I am truly passionate about. After working for thirty-eight years at the same heavy labor Construction company, I am ready to use my acquired skills and abilities, as well as my Coast Guard Merchant Marine License, to spend my time doing what I love most…boating.

Experience

Gary Merlino Construction

1980-2007

Heavy Construction Truck Driver

I was employed here for twenty-seven consecutive years. My commitment to the company was demonstrated through an impeccable attendance record, willingness to accept weekend and overtime hours, and through my dedication to Teamsters- worker relations. I also held the honor of being named Shop-Steward for fifteen of my twenty-seven years, and was held responsible for training a plethora of other employees. I have since retired from this position. During these twenty-seven years, I gained expertise operating all types of machinery, including but not limited to Low-Boys, Bulldozers, Back Hoes, Diggers, Cranes, Fork Lifts, Cement Trucks, Freight Trucks, Dump Trucks, and Flat Beds.
