EMPLYOMENT EXPERIENCE 2003 – present MACHINE SHOP MANAGER – SUMITOMO DRIVE TECHNOLOGIES, Chesapeake, VA

Skills and abilities:

- manage a staff of twenty on the day-to-day operations of the machine shop

- maintain job scheduling while ensuring on-time delivery

- work with production engineering on process improvements and manufacturing cells

- work with Q.A. on job discrepancies to ensure correction and prevent future occurrences

- assist Q.A. with inspection duties when needed

- maintain daily production, monthly absorption and budgeting reports

- chaired numerous project teams to improve the efficiency, productivity and safety within the machine shop

- inventory of tooling

- daily problem solving

- hiring and training of new employees and writing and administering performance reviews

- manage human resource and time card issues to resolution

- active participant on the in-house Employee Advisory Committee; 5 years

1989 – 2003 MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR / C.N.C.MACHINIST - SUMITOMO DRIVE TECH.

Skills and abilities:

- set up and operate various machine tools – mills, lathes, drill press, etc., to produce quality parts using all necessary tools and fixturing

- working knowledge of basic and advanced machine tool operating parameters such as speeds, feeds, tool geometry and axis positions

- ability to debug, edit and write C.N.C. programs as necessary

- provide feedback on the performance of the machine shop

- ensure production schedule is updated and made available to the operators

- hiring and training new employees and writing and administering performance reviews

- perform other duties as instructed
