Objective


I would like to manage small facility for ferry service or charter company.


Experience


I started fishing commercially at age 14 with family in Washington and Alaska. Currently and for the past 18 years I have worked for a County owned ferry in Washington State. Starting as a part time employee and woking my way to my current position as the Senior master. This title not only involves operating the( 200 long ton ) 91 gross ton ferry but also I manage 16 employees and I am involved with all aspects of Ferry operations including scheduling, hiring, safety, training and vessel maintenance. I have been recognized as a top performer for the County the last 5 years.


Education


Most all of my education has been on the job training. However I am currently taking online courses in human resource and business management. I have taken numerous seminars through my employer for managing personel, computer classes, conflict resolution, fire fighting, first aid and diversity training.

Have limited experience with computer programs such as Excel, Quickbooks, Microsoft Works and Power point

Can write training sylabus, preventative maintenance programs and budgets including payroll


 


Over the past 16 years my wife and I have created, owned, operated and sold 4 successfull businesses. I have also owned and operated jointly with my father, a successful charter fishing business for the past 11 years. When it comes to operating a business and managing people, my customer service skills are second to none. I also understand the bottom line to operating a business.
