Prepare and schedule activities for technicians via Discipline Supervisors on a daily basis

Update schedule with agreed break-ins and carry out impact assessment
Issue work orders to Discipline Supervisors and ensure onshore close out in SAP on completion
Annual shutdown preparation in conjunction with Discipline Supervisors
Lead & implement business improvement initiatives
Ensure effective and efficient delivery of all activities within the maintenance plans (e.g. PSAP correctives & non-routine work orders).
Raise PMR deferments responsibilities and ensure associated risk assessments are carried out where appropriate
Participate in weekly operations/maintenance scheduling meeting
Participate in daily performance review with maintenance team
Contribute to maintenance prioritization review
Stand in for ISC Team Leader if and when required

Responsible for daily work order preparation by identifying what needs done? What Hazards are involved? How does it need to be done? What materials and services are needed? What tools are required? What is the material lead-time? How long will the job take? What instructions will the team need?
Responsible for determining planned costs & updating estimate cost columns.
Responsible for the daily creation of 72RE sub work orders for repairable items.
Responsible for running daily ready for execution checks & setting relevant work orders to EXEC status.
Responsible for standing in for Scheduler if and when required.
Responsible for liaising with the store man on material control issues.

Ensuring all disciplines, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, services and specialist vendors are briefed on the safety and delivery expectations of the platform management.
Ensuring all work sites are safe, and all work is executed safely, prior, during and after the platform shutdown.
Ensuring isolations are correct for work to be carried out safely and that all relevant supporting paper work is in place.

During this period I held a number of positions as a commissioning engineer and a mechanical supervisor.
The positions were mainly offshore based in the UK they included:
Carrying out root cause analysis to determine faults on LP and HP compression units.
Advise the client on down time, manning and cost.
Focal point for contracting company’s on how to achieve the safe execution of work for the client.
Responsible for overseeing the strip down, repair, rebuild and commissioning of equipment to agreed timescales.
Responsible for the handing over of the commissioned machine back to the client.
Managing a team and work scopes to achieve optimum performance of work execution.
1996 – 2001 Various
At the start of my engineering career I worked in a number of different sectors including heavy engineering, petrochemical plants, MoD, marine engineering, offshore engineering, construction and power stations. Projects worked on include:
Britannia Oil, Port Clarence, Teesside
Working as senior mechanical commissioning technician, on behalf of Bell valves, on the Britannia oil and gas project.
Working closely with the client to identify problematic valves during the commissioning stages.
Responsible for the correct manning requirements to execute the project.
Supervise / advise technicians in the safe working procedures required to repair removed or replaced valves in accordance with client QA & QC specifications.
Identifying 300 valves that were subsequently removed, repaired and / or replaced, within time and budget, to meet QA & QC requirements stipulated by the client.
GEC Aerospace, World Cargo, Terminal Four, Heathrow Airport UK
Employed as a commissioning engineer to install the first ever computerised cargo-handling system overseeing the correct alignment and instalment of the conveyor and hoist systems. Conducted commissioning checks in accordance with BAA and GEC procedures.
Mammoet, Holland
Worked as part of a team on a ground breaking project never attempted anywhere before. The project involved building, designing and installing 26 separate lifting units onto a barge using the Smitt International Giant 4. This was then utilised to recover the Keorsk submarine, from the seabed, and transport it back to dry dock in Norway for the Russian Government.
Mercia Lifting & Kone Cranes, Teesside
Commissioning engineer conducting root cause analysis to determine faults with overhead gantry cranes advising the client on down time requirements so that works could be carried out in a safe reasonable time scale. This was carried out in accordance to Lloyd’s insurance regulations and policies.
Devonport Royal Navy Shipyard
Commissioning engineer executing maintenance on Royal Navy ships including aircraft carriers, frigates and submarines.

Commissioning engineer working on a semi-submersible accommodation oil and gas support barge in dry dock. The project was to transform the accommodation barge into a drilling platform.
