•Performed safety supervision and logistical coordination for over 350 National Security Boarding’s out of the Puget Sound region. Proficient at reading vessel schedules, Marine Exchange, Pilot Reports, SANS reports, Coast Guard Regulations, and inspections.
•Served as a Boarding Team Member for the U.S. Coast Guard Vessel Board and Security Team (VBST)

•Conducting research for, developing, and presenting briefings, lectures, structured talks, impromptu talks, presentations and coordination of Anti-Terrorism National Security Boarding’s, Radiation detection, Washington State Ferry Patrols and a multitude of high risk and emergency operations.
•Participated in Operation Eagle Host (G-8 Summit). This entailed working alongside with the Secret Service during Presidential Security and Protection of George W. Bush.
•Team Leader and supervisor during an unfortunate Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crash. Detail included establishing and maintaining a security zone.
•Team Leader for Seattle Vessel Board and Security Team (VBST), Supervisor of over 13 personnel.
•Team Leader during the response to a contaminated vessel entering U.S. waters from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear radiation plume, resulting in the development of national policy and protocol for vessels entering U.S. waters from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear radiation zone.
•Organized daily meetings and kept subordinates on track with the plan of the day and maintained a sharp and professional appearance
•Experienced at leading multiple projects and personnel in a fast pace high stress environment.
•Successfully mentored hundreds of junior sailors; scheduled workloads, watch schedules, reviewed leave request and conducted regular evaluations as well as corrective action plans to improve efficiency.
•Instructed crew on hazardous waste operations; emergency response guides; confined space entry; blood borne pathogens; PPE; hearing conservation; safe winter diving; crane operations; oxyacetylene safety; and safe boating. Organized safety meetings, daily workloads, and maintenance scheduling, and conducted over 3000 morning briefs.
•Budget, Procurement, and Property Petty Officer for three Coast Guard units which included; oversight of budget, creating spend plans, procurement, and inventory of parts for maintenance and casualties, accountability of over $500,000 worth of maintenance, and law enforcement equipment.
•Selected as a Coast Guard small boat expert to serve on the Sector Southeastern New England Ready for Operations Inspection Team.
