After selflessly serving 23 years in the United States Coast Guard, I have built a sterling reputation as an exceptional Non-Commissioned Officer. I am a proven engineering technician who leverages vast experience, teamwork, and solid leadership to execute solutions that create reliable equipment conditions and dramatically increase efficiency. My mechanical skill and experience includes preventative and casualty repair maintenance, detailed critical component inspections, short and long term maintenance planning, and technical task oversight. I have technical expertise in reliability and preventative analysis to include thickness measurements, vibration analysis, chemical reactive and fluid sampling analysis, ultrasonic testing, and root cause failure analysis. I have developed numerous piping and system sketches and upon review; drafted change recommendations to simplify maintenance tasks, increase reliability, and enhance efficiency. I understand common metals, alloys, and composites and their properties, applications, and bonding characteristics. Highly detail and safety oriented, I have served as a senior job inspector and mishap investigator. Through my military experience, I have obtained formal technical training in machinery principles, outboard engines, diesel and gasoline engines, gas powered turbine engines, pumps and couplings, marine air conditioning and refrigeration, valves and piping, low pressure industrial boilers, fuel storage and distribution, as well as auxiliary machinery. I have solid experience in heavy equipment operations, maintenance, and repair to include wheel loaders, skid steers, industrial trucks, large tractors and implements, and specialty vehicle operations. Additionally, I am a recognized expert in hydraulic systems to include diagnostics and repair in the marine environment, reading hydraulic and mechanical blueprints and technical publications, and interpreting and implementing technical changes. I am an engaging and sought after instructor in both classroom and field settings routinely mentoring lower level technicians during tasks. My computer skills include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. My unquestionable dedication and devotion to the Coast Guard has been recognized through high level awards. I was selected as Command Chief by demonstrating superior leadership and management skills. In addition, I was honored by my superiors as the Enlisted Person of the Year for the USCG Atlantic Communications System and recognized as the most valuable trainer/ instructor by the Atlantic Training Group. While serving on active duty, I earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Marine Engineering and completed senior level management courses.
