Plan all field service jobs with the objective of fast & quality service to customers, including all Wärtsilä engine family lines found in the cruise ship industry, power plants and oil rigs just to mention a few. Technical evaluation during the jobs & to provide technical assistance to the sales department when needed. Development of Field Service engineers. Planning of the job & briefing before starting of the job and coordinate all the resources required for the job. Coordinate with workshop for availability & delivery of tools Logging and follow up of customer complaints and prepare an immediate resolution. Coordinate with supplier/contractor to ensure job progress strict adherence to quality systems and way of working. When needed to join engineers for on site for technical support. Factory certified in Wärtsilä product line. Reviewing and approval of field service reports. Project Manager for large projects such as crankshaft replacements. Participate in technical and contract negotiations with clients for up coming new projects.

Field Service Senior Service Engineer, 08/2004 to 09/2009

As a 4 Stroke Field Service Engineer we successfully installed, maintained, over hauled, repaired and commissioned Wärtsilä products world wide. Provide an expert support to engine performance related claim handling. Prepare root cause analysis of performance related problems when needed and propose solutions. Analyze service reports and ensure that correct procedures are followed .Render effective feedback regarding technical- service issues, provide reviews towards Product Management. Analyze engine performance reports, conclude on engine condition, and suggest further actions. Assist Field Service personnel and external customers, take part in remote troubleshooting.



Prepare instructions and / or carry out necessary measurements and analysis on engines in operation as needed. Describe procedures and suggest modifications of existing instructions’. Work out solutions to solve performance problems in cooperation with other experts in Technical Service. Initiate implementation of solution. Support licensees, shipyards and owners in engine performance re-lated topics. Train personnel of Wärtsilä in Engine Performance related subjects. Implement the field service process according to the service guide lines. Formulate and communicate the local Field Service budget and action plan. Organize the activities and implement tasks set in the budget and action plan. Manage field service and workshop personnel. Follow up and report the Field Service performance. Participate in technical and contract negotiations. Participate in and co-ordinate the training of the field service and workshop personnel. Warranty engineer on power plants. Commissioning and delivery engineer of new vessels. Extensive travel and support for our customers in South America.
