LNG/LPG Marine Superintendent Job

Objective


1. To further develop my current experience in LNG shipping as an Operations Superintendent.

2. Alternatively, willing to explore other opportunities in Marine / Operations positions in Ship Managers office.


Experience


As Master of the LNG Vessel, I have gained practical knowledge to ensure a safe, efficient and cost effective operation of LNG Vessels and that all operational practices meeting Flag State, Port State and commercial requirements of various Charter Parties.



As Master I gained practical ship handling experience of large LNG vessels. I had also completed one week Practical Ship handling course ( Pilot training course ) in Warsash Maritime training center.



I had been responsible for ensuring the implementation of Owner’s Navigation, Seamanship and Cargo handling policy for LNG vessels. I am able to provide leadership and guidance across the complete spectrum of a ship's operations and to this end fleet officer.



Ability to provide an effective working link on a day-to-day basis between Ship Owner and the Ship's staff based on positive auditing and reporting of relevant activities.


Education


• Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) Class 1 (Master Mariner) Department of Transport, United Kingdom in March 1999. All professional certificates obtained in first attempt. Dangerous Cargo Endorsements – Gas/Petroleum.

• Higher National Diploma in Nautical Science in 1996 from South Tyneside College, South Shields. U.K. Merits in all subjects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science from Mercantile Marine Academy, Bangladesh. 1987 First Class

• A-Level: 1985 First Class

• O-Level: 1983 First Class

• SIGTTO LNG Certification.

• Route Cause Analysis for Incident Investigation.

• Manned Model Ship Handling Course in 2006 at Warsash Maritime Centre, Southampton, U.K.

• Fire Fighting Command and Control Course in 2006 at The Fire College, Moreton-in-Marsh, U.K.

• Crew Resource Management Course in 2005 at Warsash Maritime Centre, Southampton, U.K.

Ability to develop and maintain a close working relationship with various Charterers thereby ensuring that all parties concerned with programming of vessels are aware of the vessel's ability to fulfill the Charter Party.



I am well Conversed LNG Terminals rules and regulations and attended various Ship/Shore Interface meeting. I have dealt directly with Terminal representatives on various LNG Cargo related matters. I have sound knowledge of LNG vessel’s compatibility studies and Optimoor.



I have had the privilege to sail on Product tankers, LPG and LNG ships (both Membrane and Moss) with Shell. I had the opportunity of being directly involved with entire re-fit preparations of LNG ships. During this time I was also a part of the team responsible for taking the ships out of service and putting them back into service after re-fit.



I am well conversant with international legislation (e.g. MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM) and Industry standards, codes and Guidelines (e.g. ISGOTT, SIGTTO), with knowledge of OCIMF / SIRE and Port State Inspection and requirements. I am Proficient in the formulation and application of quality risk assessments relating to shipboard procedures and operations.



I am well versed with ISPS code and acted as Shipboard Security Officer.



I was involved in various SIRE inspections with all Oil Majors both as Fleet Master and Chief Officer. I am fully conversant with conduction of vetting inspections in accordance with guidelines laid down by OCIMF. I was involved in preparing for and ensuring the successful outcome of Flag state / Class surveys, Port State Control Inspection and ISM / Security audits.



I am well versed with the analysis & investigation of incidents / accidents / near misses. I did carry out mandatory and proactive safety inspections on board, generating non-conformances and preparing plans for corrective action and close-out. On board Shell ships, I carried out the job of Safety Officer and managed the team with Zero incidents. I also have the practical experience in carrying out Apollo Investigation.



An ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels within the organization and with internal and external contacts. I have gained the ability to remain rational, composed and professional under pressure while dealing with many critical situations as Fleet Master.



I would like to further my career ashore to take the challenge of working in a different environment that would benefit and open up a new window to broaden my existing experience in Shipping/Maritime operations and on the other hand, this will also enable me to have a better work/life balance
