Objective


US Coast Guard veteran with a 50ton Master/Mate/OS license looking for time and experience on larger vessels to gain required time and tonnage for upgrades to make myself a more valuable asset to a company in the future. (Gulf Crew/Supply vessels are strongly desired)


Experience


UNITED STATES COAST GUARD RESERVE, Station Charleston, Charleston, SC / Station Sand Key, Clearwater, FL. Team Leader / Boatswains Mate / First Class Petty Officer. 2009 - Present.



• Managed and supervised a team of 9 people while deployed on active duty, at the Military Outload Division at Station Charleston.

• While underway, operating as the Officer in Charge was responsible for the safety and conduct of the crew and vessel, safe navigation and operation of the vessel, and completion of the assigned mission.

• Continuously trained on all aspects of vessel operation including the following: Navigation and RADAR, towing operations, engineering casualty response, search and rescue operations, boat handling, and first aid/CPR.

• Served in multiple positions with many collateral duties including Team Leader, Small Boat Operator, Officer of the Day, Boat Keeper and Boarding Team Member.

• In charge of port, waterway, and coastal security operations, search and rescue operations, law enforcement and safe weapon deployment during underway operations.

• Coordinated daily operations of the unit while performing as the Officer of the Day. Including daily boat checks, section planning and organization for the day, maintaining multiple logbooks and legal documents, entering mission and daily data into various computer systems, and updating AIS tracking codes and radio keys on a monthly basis.

• Created an online system for team members to track leave and mission schedules, as well as track weather, tides, wind, and other important data for mission planning and pre-underway briefings.
